Gurley @ # 31
I know that Gurley isn't a name that comes up a lot in Saints draft discussions. IMHO he is a Top 3 talent minus the knee injury. I also am aware that the position is devalued in the pass happy NFL.He is the rare athlete that comes around hardly ever. If we had a chance I would quickly pull the trigger.I might move up a few spots to pick him. Think Beast Mode , Adrian Peterson type of player.

31? how about 13 maybe? it all up to the doctors at this point. I think he and Parker are best shot at trading out 13 if we want to.
besides the way they are doping up this draft he might be a solid pick. besides he would have time to come along slowly with the saints. hell of a backfield i would have to say. |

BPA losses out to need?
Gurley medically checks out he is you BPA by all odds at 13 |
Re: Gurley @ # 31
Can he play LB or OL?
I understand BPA, but we have such glaring needs at other positions I think we'd be idiotic to spend a high pick on a position we have already addressed. |
Re: Gurley @ # 31
He will be gone by mid round 1.
My hope is a Saints -Cardinals/Dallas trade so they jump Miami. You can risk taking a Peters/DGB late first knowing you have additional picks if they bust imo. We have just spent $9ml of the cap in two RBs i just cant see how you take him |
Re: Gurley @ # 31
I would rather build a D to shut down people like Gurley. He!! we couldn't stop a pee-wee RB last season the way we were gashed.

Re: Gurley @ # 31
I think Gurley is one of the most over hyped players in recent memory. Not to say he has no potential or that he won't do anything at all. I think in the right system with a good O-line he'll look pretty good as most backs would. But when I say over hyped, I mean he gets talked about like he's one of these rare breeds that come along every 10 years at best. I never have seen that in him. I see a guy running through gaping holes and piling up impressive stats, but I don't see a defining characteristic that sets him apart. He does have a pretty good size/speed combination, but that's not some unheard of thing.
That's just my opinion on him. As far as the Saints of all people going after him? Why? We just brought in Spiller, and though I'm not Ingram's biggest fan, the Saints just gave him a 4 year deal which tells you they've made a commitment to those two guys. Why would you then draft a running back... In the first round, no less? Maybe the guy turns out to be superman, and it still would be a stupid pick. |
Re: Gurley @ # 31
we have krob, cj, and mark... I don't think this would be wise in round 1.
