Willie Jackson
So last off-season the Saints released Willie Jackson. I was really confused then and I'm just as confused about the move now. A year later I'm asking myself, why don't we go resign that guy?
Ok, consider... Horn is our number one next year. Stallworth will be our number two. Now. we've got Pathon, who is a good receiver, but we'll probably look to pick up another guy to be our 4, since the Saints aren't real high on Reed or Lewis (as a receiver). And let's be honest, Pathon wasn't exactly a stud this year. He was up and down and generally average... in my opinion. In his last year as a Saint, what did Jackson have... 80 receptions? The year before that too, if I remember correctly... give or take. Willie certainly wasn't the fastest guy, but I'll take his 80 receptions over Pathon's 43 any day. I think Atlanta picked him after we released him and then they cut Willie mid-year. I think he went on to play for someone like Denver. Obviously, no one has pinned him down - should I take that as a sign of his real abilities, or is he a steal right now? I mean, if it were my decision, I'd go pick that guy up and at least let him compete. I think he beats out Pathon... based on his performance in the past. |
Willie Jackson
Are my signals crossed or was Willie Jackson a good receiver for us for two years during what 2000 and 2001?

Willie Jackson
c\'mon - the Falcons have Finneran, Gaylord, and McCord. Are you telling me that Willie isn\'t better than those guys?

Willie Jackson
Don\'t worry about me guys, I\'m having a conversation with myself... just my normal Saturday night dose of Skytzo behavior.

Willie Jackson
Who are you calling Skytzo punk?!

Willie Jackson
You, for one...

Willie Jackson
Willie Jackson was signed by the Redskins and cut a few weeks later. I think the problem the Saints had with Willie was money. Willie wanted number one reciever money.
