Re: Bottom Line: Jimmy Graham for Max Unger & Stephon Anthony!
Lee, I know it wasn't your write up. I just got the feeling that the clown who did write it, didn't watch a single full game of his and only picked apart what he saw on a "highlight tape" or what he saw at the combine.
my eyes saw a stud ILB that would help the Saints improve their defense, watch the FSU game and you will see what I mean |
Re: Bottom Line: Jimmy Graham for Max Unger & Stephon Anthony!
I like the kid and would be delighted to see him with us.
just have to wait and see if we would go ILB again |

Re: Bottom Line: Jimmy Graham for Max Unger & Stephon Anthony!
Speaking of the fsu game lets focus on Vic Beasley in this game. All I can see is our boy. All that blockbuster blitzing didn't make much of a difference in this game. |
Re: Bottom Line: Jimmy Graham for Max Unger & Stephon Anthony!
I don't understand the hate for Anthony. He's a big, athletic, hard hitting, side line to side line range LB who can cover....... Am I missing something? How long have we been desperate for exactly this kind of guy? And who exactly had him as the 4th or 5th best ILB? You? Sorry, but your opinion carries very little in the way of value. He is widely regarded as no less than number 2 overall, by people who actually do this sort of thing for a living. He was the LEADER of a defense with a lot of draft worthy prospects. With production to back it up and tons of potential yet to be tapped. If this kid isn't a monster by year 3 at the very latest I will be shocked. He'll almost certainly be a starter this year.

We got the better of that trade, easily.

Re: Bottom Line: Jimmy Graham for Max Unger & Stephon Anthony!
After the draft where a player is picked is doesn't matter it is how he contributes is all that matters. Anthony is a smart three down LB that fills a glaring need. Malcolm Brown was a player that I thought would be a good fit for the Saints. Grady Jarrett is a Clemson player I would like in Rd3. Several good interior linemen in this draft. We will have to wait and see..

Getting good players is what the draft is about, not drafting for "need". Very few players come in first year and make the difference drafting for "need" requires. Lastly, none of these players have played a single down in the NFL and the season has not even started, yet, according to you Seattle has already got the better of the trade. I am in the camp that says the jury is still out on that and i'd like 2-3 years of data to be presented first. Making trades requires the other team, you can't just make them because you feel like it. So although moving back and drafting Dupree is what you felt best to do, what if there was no offer or the compensation not what we felt it should be? I love how you determine the best course of action was something we have 0 idea was even available for our staff to do.... |
