Look at his skill set... RELENTLESS at getting after the QB a quality this team needs.

First round talent without the ACL tears
Two years of production since though so a good pick.

He only had one ACL tear. The second surgery was to correct the first because it was not done correctly. At least, this is what Mike Mayock said.

I was impressed when Jon Stinchcomb pronounced it so confidently during the draft.

Phonetically it's written and pronounced like - " How Oh Lee, Keek Aha"

Hope that helps!

He then went on to post 32 combined sacks in 2013 and 2014, that to me shows he has not suffered since the injury.

He's still young. Gotta wonder how he holds up in the long run.

This was a tremendous value pick.

He's obviously been a productive college player, though most of it came in one year. I like the kid, and don't mind having him on the team, but I find it very risky in the second round.

When you say value pick, to me value is getting a guy a round or two below is projection. This was a borderline 2nd round guy, with medical red flags thrown in. So I don't consider this a value pick, based on that. Of course, if he stays healthy and produces he makes it a value pick.

"Kikaha had a couple (of torn) ACLs early in his career, has been healthy the past two years, great motor off the edge, has some edge skills, not as long as you would like. I'm anxious to see what he runs and how he looks." -- Mike Mayock, NFL Network.

Huskies Hau'oli Kikaha back on the field with new name, perspective | The Seattle Times

HE WAS KNOWN as Hau’oli Jamora as a freshman in 2010. He started the final seven games that season, recording one sack and 3.5 tackles for loss in UW’s Holiday Bowl victory over Nebraska. The future was bright. Then, in UW’s Pac-12 Conference opener against California in late September 2011, he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Eager to get back on the field, he rushed his rehabilitation, then tore the same ligament while covering Austin Seferian-Jenkins on a wheel route during the first week of training camp in August 2012. He lay on the practice-field turf and prayed.

Hau'oli Kikaha Ready for Combine Experience to Be About NFL Future, Not Injuries | Bleacher Report

"I'm extremely confident in the results we've gotten. The second surgery was done by one of a top surgeons in the Seattle Seahawks' Edward Khalfayan. He's probably going to be there [at the NFL combine]. I'm really confident in his work, and I'm feeling very strong compared to the first time.

I don't want to make any excuses about that first surgery, but it wasn't the best situation. I'll just say that. Everything went perfectly the second time around.

I'm really confident in the knee. I can only wait and see what everyone thinks once I get to Indianapolis."
- Hau'oli Kikaha (formerly Jamora)

Re: Saints select Hau'oli Kikaha in the 2nd round

"Kikaha was one of my favorite players in this entire class. He doesn't have the timed speed you look for in an edge rusher, but he has enough first-step quickness to keep offensive tackles guessing. He can convert speed to power and his relentless motor results in several second-effort sacks. This guy just knows how to finish plays." – Todd McShay, ESPN

Re: Saints select Hau'oli Kikaha in the 2nd round

"Explosive first step and arc speed to get around the edge with flexible body control and balance to flatten. Stays low with natural dip, using his hands to slap away blockers' jabs without slowing his momentum. Fluid change of direction skills to make sharp 90-degree turns with the loose hips to turn and play in coverage -- will drop and cover in short zones with natural ball awareness and proximity feel. Strong wrists and arrives with aggressive angles and violent intentions, tuning up his target. Nice job on the edges to hold the corner and close off the outside, tracking well to work off contact and pursue. Plays assignment sound football with elite effort and competitiveness. Fiery, pesky motor that simply doesn't quit...Solid build and muscle tone, but lacks ideal body strength and can be pushed off his path at times by blockers. Too easily slowed and needs space to be effective, lacking the length to live in a phone booth. Doesn't have the power to consistently shed once engaged and won't overwhelm with his upper body strength. Can be run at and controlled in the run game, too easily moved from his spot. Moves well, but not a twitchy athlete. Too many ankle biting tackle attempts, needs to better break down on the move. Needs to improve his anticipation and instincts in coverage. Strong durability concerns after tearing the ACL in his left knee twice." - Dane Brugler

I understand that initial burst is what separated him from others.
As long as he stays healthy, I think he could be special.
