Getting Hitched

Getting married in November and my fiancé asked me if I wanted to invite anybody special. After going through the obvious family and friends she asked me if I had anyone else I wanted to invite. Grant it, our guest list is a little over 500 people and the crazy thing is just about every has RSVPd back saying that they are coming.

Anyways......

I told her that I wanted to invite Drew to the wedding. She gave me a very weird look and laughed. Even though I obviously know that he won't show up because he will be busy beating up the Titans that weekend. A guy who has been a Saints fan his entire life is having a fleur de lis grooms cake, wearing Saints socks and my grandfather's fleur de lis cufflinks; whats wrong with inviting his favorite football player of all time?

I'm guessing I am going to send the invitation to the training facility in Metairie but not 100% sure. Any ideas?

Yeah.... sure, why not. The Metairie facility is as good as any. And congratulations!

BTW... don't get rid of your S, even if she wants you to.

take 40 grand and hide it. do it now. do it before you get married.

I wish you all the best. Truly.

but hiding 40 grand is THE BEST advice you're going to get, from anyone.

Re: Getting Hitched

Dont feel weird about asking Saints to show up. I invited Bobby Hebert to MudBugs VI. (Our Houston Chapter of WhoDAt Nation's annual shindig)

-- My question to you, is... do you have a DJ? Your DJ will have a bigger
impact on your wedding than any other person involved, other than your Bride.

Im an expert on weddings, and I've done a bunch of New Orleans, Saints, & Mardi Gras themed ones. PM me, if you want to know more. And yes, I travel.

I hope your weddding rocks. The last time I got married, I wore a black and gold tux, and my grooms cake was a Superdome.

Drew was in Houston doing an autograph show so my mom went. Come to find out she invited Drew to my wedding since it was in the summer. He signed the invitation and respectfully declined.

Congratulations to you and your fiancé

As a past client, I can second that if you need a DJ or coordinator to use Sky Mike. He made my wife fell like a million bucks on our wedding day at the reception and was by far the best DJ I've seen at a wedding

aint nothing wrong with that. I invited Bobby Hebert to our crawfish boil.

My grooms cake was a Superdome.

Much Appreciated, RC83. Im done coordinating, now... strictly DJ.

You know a past client of mine has another daughter
getting married in Jackson MS, opening week of football season, and they're huge WhoDats (They did a big Second Line too), and they're having me travel there. Looks like I'll be watching the Cardinals game on the way back, somewhere in the swamp... or maybe Lafayette.

Re: Getting Hitched

All you can do is ask. I think they would show up but it would take some special circumstances. They can't be showing up and any Saints fan wedding right? Maybe someone who survived cancer, which is the main pillar of the Brees Foundation is more appropriate. Or someone who survived a IED blast and lost limbs. I don't think anyone could object to those requests.

I can second that one! next one is run away and get hitch in some funky church some where. preferably a country with an easily voidable contract without a ton of dead money attracted. :)

Wishing you two all the luck in the world and pray you two beat the odds and stick together till the end. the greatest thing on earth
