"I don't like what Roger Goodell is doing," Horn said. "He has so much power that he can almost shut people down. I just don't like him. And I don't like that on draft day these kids don't know that they're hugging the devil. I hate to see kids that are lost and then happy but they really don't know that the man they're hugging will rip their throat apart.

Van Halen had "Running With The Devil", NFL has "Hugging With The Devil". But Joe's comments are essentially correct, Goodell will throw any of those players under the bus if it serve's the league's financial interests and 'protects the shield'.

Roger needs a scandal

nothing seems to touch him

what he is doing to the NFL is appalling


unfortunately the owners love him because he makes them a lot of $
although too many key players stripped in the prime of their careers might change that

I always thought marketing a "I have Roger Godell shirt" and selling it outside games would be great

they couldn't stop you at the door

What Roger does is make sure that other scandals like Bountygate, Deflategate and AP's situation get blown out of proportion. Smear other parties in the NFL and give the talking heads something to yap about instead of talking about him.

This has me wondering now. Wonder if it is some kind of requirement that the players hug Goodell as part of being able to attend the draft? I could see something like a policy or rule stating if you do not comply, your plane ticket back home does not get reimbursed or something like that. Maybe, just perhaps, that could explain the huge increase in star players not attending?
