there have been some posts for this before but i wanted to pass this link along cuz i like the rankings at each position. dont necessarily agree with all but it is a good point of reference when envisioning shopping lists. note darren howard the best de out there since the jets will sign abraham in all probability.

that\'s rolle who was talked about on the front page. I\'d go with kelly holcomb for a low budget qb for a year. dyson, smoot, baxter at cb--with the priority being smoot any of the ot\'s. if we could get rudy johnson as a change of pace RB to push Duece I\'d be very happy. rudy is a really cool guy and a good back with a whole different approach than duece..great for a backup..and i\'m not sure he\'s gonna get much of a look this offseason. common-he couldn\'t be worse than kurt warner...
what i\'m really hoping is that we can trade brooks to the niners. |

Ooooohhhh, and then get Aaron Rodgers or Alex Smith? Stop it man, I can\'t handle that kind of excitement knowing it isn\'t ever gonna happen.

i don\'t know if i want smith or rogers-i was kinda hoping that we could trade for rivers or brees. I doubt that is happening either.
I think that some of the lower round QBs can develop into better starters than either smith or rogers. I do think that we are going to attempt to trade brooks this offseason...just for who or what I don\'t know. |

I\'d take Smith over Rodgers, but not first pick high. If we were to trade AB for something that high, I would trade back a few spots and get more picks for the second round, where I think there will definitely be some defensive steals.

that\'s kinda along the lines of what I was thinking...dallas and san diego have two first rounders and both need DE-we have howard who wants to leave..I think that\'s another choice as well.

i do think the D could get a lot better quick if a substantial FA or two were added. then toss in a coupla high draft picks. i don\'t have high hopes tho. i think they will look at the last 4 games n say we just need to tinker adding little if anything of free agents.
what about ss donovan darius on that list. he was the jack. franchise player, a durable and hard hitter. buzz is they probably wont franchise him again tho, so a bidding war. if not, jags need some sacks- howard for him straight across. |

another list a little deeper than that link-

I say go after Hartwell first then Smoot but what ever you do STAY AWAY FROM BAXTER he is OVERRATED.

I watched smoot play at state-the man can flat out steal a pass and can deliver a wallup..let\'s bring him home.

have read a coupla different places that the eagles are not going to put much out to resign cory simon. maybe a better score opportunity than the somewhat risky hovan.

I was starting to think that was a good list of free agents...and then I saw...
5 - Victor Riley - Saints - 30 Tell me there are only 5 OT FAs this year. |

i think that just lists the top rated. you\'ll find riley 4-5 on most lists. he was a starter. makes me think of grady jackson... all flat slob then goes to gb and is one of their key players.
