The Top 5 Greatest Saints RB's of All-Time
I don't have a problem with his list.
Good morning, Who Dats! Because of the breaking news over the weekend involving Saints linebacker Junior Galette, the Big Easy Believer’s special Father’s Day Weekend Series featuring the “bests” and “worsts” of Saints history had to be cut short — and so there was one story “missing” from the Series. That was, until this morning. Since the majority of your beloved heroes in Black And Gold are currently somewhere on a beach in a Caribbean island on vacation until they reconvene late next month for Training Camp at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia starting July 30th, it’s pretty slow news-wise around the Saints facility at the moment. So, we figured that this morning, we’d go ahead and run that ‘missing’ story, which is one of the “best” stories. The previous ones that ran over Father’s Day Weekend in case you missed it, were The Top 5 Absolute WORST Saints QB’s of All-Time (which was very controversial to some and was one of our most read and talked-about articles ever), The Top 5 Worst Saints Head Coaches of All-Time, and The Top Saints QB’s NOT Named Drew Brees. Now before we get started, for the younger fans who will SCREAM out: “Where’s Pierre Thomas? Where’s Reggie Bush? Where’s Darren Sproles? Mark Ingram?” Remember, this list is for “all-time”. That means 48 seasons of Saints football have come and gone. Not just five of them. These five running backs are all players that I personally got to see play live, and in some cases — before many of you were even BORN. So please take my word for it when I say, they DESERVE to be on this list. And for the older Saints fans my age (47) who don’t agree with the order that I have them in here (which honestly I’ll be shocked if anyone has a real issue with it), all I’ll say is that’s fine, because that’s what makes for some great (but friendly, mind you) debate. So with all of that out of the way, grab yourself a snack (or since it’s Summer Time down in the Big Easy, a refreshing sno-ball from your favorite sno-ball stand or place of business that sells sno-balls), and let’s look at The Top 5 Greatest Saints RB’s of All-Time…….. I'll bite and stir it up...
Ricky over Galbreath probably R.Mayes over TG as well |
Re: The Top 5 Greatest Saints RB's of All-Time
Ricky Williams, although he didn't meet the expectations due to bonehead Mike Ditka preference to trade all his pics for he should be in the top 5. It's not like we had a lot to pick from

Ricky Williams, Deuce McAllister, and Pierre Thomas are the best backs we've bad. Ricky just had baggage.

Re: The Top 5 Greatest Saints RB's of All-Time
Could they put in a few more pop up ads?
I would say that Ricky went on to have a better all around career than Duece did after he got his **** together. |

I still remember Brees throwing a screen pass to Deuce that was high. Deuce had to jump up to catch it and when he landed he tore his ACL; I still haven't forgiven Brees for that! And don't forget that when the Saints saw the handwriting on the wall with Williams and drafted Deuce, Williams treated him like shyt! |

I'll forever say that Pierre was the best screen runner I've ever seen.

Re: The Top 5 Greatest Saints RB's of All-Time
Deuce was and is number 1 of all time.

Re: The Top 5 Greatest Saints RB's of All-Time
Have no problem with this list. It's just too difficult to only pick 6 throughout a 48 year history but these 6 are deserving to be on the list.

Re: The Top 5 Greatest Saints RB's of All-Time
PT deserves to be on that list somewhere.

PT was the best screen runner I've ever witnessed in the entire NFL, not just in franchise history. You couldn't teach the desire he ran with, I remember when we played the lions in the NFCDG in 2011, we were struggling quite a lot in the first half. Then we came out and started throwing screens to PT which they had no answer for, one play PT got hit by 3 different guys within 3 yards and somehow stayed on his feet for an extra 10 yards and a much needed first down. |
