Re: Best Saints By The Numbers: #16
Lance Moore will always be one of my all time favorites. The two point conversion in the Superbowl will never be forgotten. Who Dat!

#16 "This one is a little tough, as Tom Blanchard was a quality punter for the Saints for five seasons, from 1974-1978"
C'mon- a good punter from the dark times vs. a fan favorite from the glory days? How is that even a discussion? #17 no one cares #18 Blake played well until the injury. I'd give it to Grayson just based on the fact he is being called Brees' successor. Better than Wilson and his 1:2 TD's to ints |

one of the better rag to riches underdog stories the saints have ever produced.

Re: Best Saints By The Numbers: #16
I wonder if ol' Lance has seen his final playing days. I wonder the same about Pierre, but I think Pierre will be picked up as training camp goes along when a RB gets injured. He's gotta be at the top of lists for teams. Lance Moore on the other hand... He might be done.

Re: Best Saints By The Numbers: #16
Will never argue Lance Moore as the best #16, but I do have to show some love for Ken Stabler. Even late in his career the Snake still had that magic in him, kept the Saints in the playoff hunt both seasons he started, which at the time was a major step up. As for 17, Jim Everett had the better numbers but for my money I would go with Billy Kilmer. Kilmer had great leadership qualities, played on a team with very limited talent, and at the time the Saints were considered the poster child of expansion teams. All that positive momentum went away once he was gone. As for number 18, yes Dave Wilson was an excellent prospect that was a starter at times, but I believe it should be Jeff Blake as the top guy. Jeff Blake was the main reason for the turnaround in 2000 and should have been the long term starting QB instead of AB.

Re: Best Saints By The Numbers: #16
Lance Moore had the best set of hands this place has seen in quite a long time.
Big part of our recent successes. I still miss #16's 3rd down conversion capabilities. |
Re: Best Saints By The Numbers: #16
Lance was clutch for us many times. None more important than that improbable grab for the 2 pt. Conversion, like someone above stated. Interested to see if cooks gets 100 catches this year
