On a side note, I just realized that Kromer is 48. That means last year we could have called him AK47, and I bet nobody who knew his age even thought about it. What a waist of a great nickname opportunity.

Placement of Aaron Kromer on paid leave implies NFL finding of guilt

Posted by Mike Florio on July 14, 2015, 3:46 PM EDT

With Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer arrested but not yet charged with battery against a minor in Florida, the decision of the Bills to put Kromer on paid leave says plenty about the outcome of the preliminary investigation conducted by the team and the league.

The new Personal Conduct Policy states that employees will be placed on paid leave if formal charges are filed...Absent formal charges, paid leave can occur if the preliminary investigation results in a conclusion by the Commissioner that a crime of violence occurred.

In reaching this conclusion, the Commissioner isn’t bound by the criminal standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. For the NFL, the standard is the Ted Wells more-likely-than-not/preponderance of the evidence. Which means that even if a prosecutor concludes there’s not enough evidence to convict Kromer in a court of law, there’s already enough evidence to convict Kromer in the court of Goodell.

And now Kromer will stay on paid leave until a decision is made...

Whether or not he is actually guilty, this is not proof of the NFL "finding" guilt. It just means they assume he is guilty. That's what they do, and it's nothing new.

Right, but Florio is a significant voice now and it's very significant that he's calling out Goodell as he has...

What other newssource has the brass to do this?!?

Yeah, I initially read it as Florio implying that for people who may be thinking Kromer is innocent, the NFL knows something we don't for him to be on paid leave.

I'm too used to people kissing up to ol' Roger and I missed the last part of it. I see what you're saying now, and yeah, it's pretty rare for anyone to call him out.

Godhell will drop the hammer because it looks like this is the first time someone is charged with assaulting a minor. He will make an example out of him......especially since he was previously a Saint.

Too bad we won't get to see pictures of the minor at his current size/weight...

Media will probably show a picture of the minor when he was nine years old...
