Bengals free-agent TE Jermaine Gresham will the visit Arizona Cardinals this week, per source. Saints already have offered the 27-year-old Gresham, who is coming off back surgery, a contract. Gresham also has other visits planned the next two weeks and is expected to sign with a team before camp, per source. But Gresham is now the NFL's most sought-after available tight end.

I'm sure he's hoping and waiting for a higher offer. Time will tell.

JG would be nice addition going into training camp. For what it's worth, I hope he signs with the Saints.

I get wanting to maximize your earning potential...

But money, more than winning with the Saints (Payton, Brees, Colston, etc) is obviously his motivation...

I say let him walk...

I didn't know we offered him a contract. I'd love to sign him; for the right price of course. No-one knows if Josh Hill can be a full-time starter and Ben Watson is nearing the end. Gresham would be an awesome addition. Goal line formations with all 3 of those TE's would be hard to stop since they can all catch passes.

The guy has been hurt, and this might be his last contract. Can't blame him too much. Not to mention that we won 7 games last year and the team he is looking at won 11

I think Josh Hill played great in relief of jimmy graham. Maybe even better than jimmy at times. I think he'll have a strong season.

I think the more targets we have, the more looks the "O" puts in per game the more success OFFENSE AND BREES have. To do that you need talent ... Get him signed!!!! With 3 TE set Spiller and Ingram in the Red Zone ... I like it ... ALOT :bng:

I wouldn't mind this signing at all. Could be the best TE set in the league. I also like his toughness.

Nothing at all wrong with him taking money into account when looking for a job at his age. It is a job. These guys are professionals and finding a job that gets you the maximum amount of money is just life. Why should he not consider money? You guys act like these players owe the fans too much.

And yea I like the idea. We need another passing threat that can block as well. The more protection for Brees the better. I like the versatility of a TE. I think people tend to not take tight ends blocking under consideration when they think about that position now that the they have developed more in the passing game over the years.
That being said can he block?

A whole lot better than what we saw in Jimmy Dickens. Saw Gresham on Hard Knocks a few years ago ... during the Oklahoma drills, this guy was a monster. Big, strong and powerful.

From what I have read, he can "whiff" on his blocks but on other times, he is completely dominant.

josh hill will clearly take advantage of this situation with jimmy grahm gone. bring in greshum if they like but hill will take over, watch him.

I agree, but... We need insurance. We're pretty darn thin at TE. Hill is an emerging star but Watson is on his last legs and beyond them... Orson Charles? Jack Tabb?? We need another veteran TE.

AGREE, but didn't we sign some talent after the draft or just camp bodies?

That's pretty much it: Josh Hill, Ben Watson, Orson Charles and Jack Tabb. Pretty underwhelming. It's basically Ben Watson and then a bunch of couple of undrafted guys who have never started for a full NFL season.

Of course we offered him a contract. But I'm sure the amount fit our value of him and not his value of himself.

Personally I'd like to see him here. But I won't blame him if he goes to AZ for more money.

another option:
Chris Cooley, former Washington Redskins tight end, would welcome return to NFL

For the right contract go for it. with so many questions marks going into the 2015 season in the passing attack better to have a few vets hanging around just encase.

Heck bring in Marvin Harrison

No Psychotherapist could bring Cooley back after his days with Danny Boy.
And Gresham a 27 year old Vet with back surgery ??

Gresham visiting Packers today. IMO, it's either Oakland or GB. My only rationale is younger QBs.

He wants way bigger $.... that's the only rationale.

Saw on ESPN that he accepted a one-year deal from the Cardinals.

Re: Saints have offered the 27-year-old Gresham a contract.

Like I said earlier, if he doesn't want to earn 'as good' a living as anywhere in the league but would want to be with a winner and getting to play in a Payton/Brees offense was good enough, f*** 'em...

Re: Saints have offered the 27-year-old Gresham a contract.

That's a shame... I thought he'd be a nice addition. Guess we'll just have to play against him in our first game instead. Stephone Anthony: new homework assignment... Watch tape of Jermaine Gresham and shut him down.
