Bobby Richardson Jr. posed the question to his son, Bobby III, who admittedly was in the middle of making a gigantic mess of his athletic career.

“My first year of high school, I didn’t make the team there,” Richardson III said. “Second year, I transferred to another high school and my grades were low. Third year, me and the coach got into some type of thing and I was released from the team.”

So, in three years of high school – and aided by the double dip of having a poor attitude and poorer circle of friends – Bobby Richardson III hadn’t played a down.

“What now?” his father asked.

“It was just one line,” Richardson III said. “I remember he told me, after I was off the team and I had one year left, he just said, ‘What now?’ And that just struck me. I was like, ‘I’ve got one year left to get it all together.’ ”

He got it all together.

Still blames his old coach for a "thing" Sounds like a locker room cancer to me.
Lets wait a year or two and then offer him a huge contract and cut him 5 minutes after he signs.

Richardson is one of those interesting pick ups. Trapped in a so so conference that is the big ten now a days. On a team that was even more so so, he appeared to have some upside but he was hard to judge.

To go undrafted was a bit of a surprise. so landing him was a stroke of luck that kinda flew under the radar. Hell I forgot all about him by the 5th round of the draft.

he maybe the surprise FA gem when all is said and done. well worth keeping an eye on

It's never good to point fingers even when it's true. Some eventually get it. Some don't (Jr). Clearly has the physical skills.

After watching some clips of this kid, I often wonder how he went undrafted.

I think in the video he says something real quick. BUT it seems that this kid & a lot of our youngsters have their heads on straight.

I am always amused when I read that undrafted players love to come to the Saints because we have a good track record of finding & keeping those types of players.

Is there anyway we can trade off a majority of our draft picks for money or proven players? We tend to draft like crap sometimes BUT we have so much success with UFAs! :doh:
