Garret Hartley Finally Employed
I know a lot of people here didn't like him, but I'll always like him for pulling us through in the 2009 playoffs to go on to the Superbowl. Hope he does well.

DON"T DO THAT TO ME! Jeez, I thought you meant employed by us!

Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
Super Bowl winning Kicker. Good for him.
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
He'll be fine as long as its not a chip shot in OT but I will say Tomlin won't be as forgiving as Payton
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
Maybe he just needed a break. Dude had a leg. He just let the game **** with his head. Couldn't make easy ones
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
happy to hear. wish him success. he sent us to the sb and helped us win one
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
Outdoors in the cold. That usually doesn't improve accuracy. But, I hope he has a perfect season and the Saints beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl.
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
I've heard from several people that he's a jerk.
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
erratic in the Dome and he's going to kick in a notoriously windy stadium?
I don't think he'll last long |

Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
Good for him. Hartley was always better on grass than on turf....think of those long, clutch kicks in the Super Bowl that kept us alive in the game, before the momentum turned. Good for him. People may be surprised. Off the top of my head I don't recall him ever missing a boneheaded kick on grass outdoors. If he did I have blocked it out, LOL. But the famous bonehead misses I remember were all pretty much indoors in perfect conditions.

2 for 2, with a 48 yarder

Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
Good for him. We wouldn't have won the Super Bowl without him. You guys say you've heard he's a jerk... I've heard that pretty consistently about probably 25% of the players on our roster at any given time over the years. I'll be rooting for Hartley.

Kinda how I feel about Sean Payton at this point. |
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
He's no longer a Saint... so frankly I don't give a F...
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
That's not fair to say vtiger72... Can you deny his importance to the history of the Saints just because he's not on the team anymore?
|
Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
I don't deny his importance, and when he retires I will think fondly of him. But, as far as his current employment or lack thereof, I don't care.

Re: Garret Hartley Finally Employed
Steelers are in a pinch then, Hartley came in because Shaun Suisham
is out with an ACL. |

The man set a Superbowl record and was a major contributor to our Superbowl win.
