Are the stats misleading, or are we missing it?
 

If you just look at the stats from the Baltimore game you may be lead to believe we played well and should have won. Here, go ahead and take a look, don't look at the score and tell me what you think.
New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens - Box Score - August 13, 2015 - ESPN

Some stats that stand out to me:
Baltimore:
2.7 YPC
2 INTs
7-15 3rd downs
6 first downs from penalties

NO:
More total yards
More yards per play
No turn-overs
Over 4 YPC

Point being, we got lucky no serious injuries were reported, and although our 1s gave up a TD on the first drive let's remember IT TOOK 16 PLAYS to get there. Our brand-new defense did pretty well against an established veteran offense. Lets stop with the doom-and-gloom around here for awhile (at least until the 3rd preseason game).

The stats show Luke McClown played well but that is not true. Beginning play he throw a very low incompletion and thru out the game he didn't show any poise to read the defense. Beside the deep out pass for a TD that was ruled a incompletion cause Brandin Cooks stepped out of bounds, I didn't see anything that impressed me

It would have been nice to see our "complete" offense for one drive... I'm eager to see Spiller and Brees at work

I think it's typical for preseason. An offense racking up yards against 2nd and 3rd string doesn't equal domination during regular season. Really watching 2 or 3 games and different squads playing throughout the game.

My biggest beef was simple our 1's on defense vs. their 1's on offense was a disaster. Everything else was interesting. I did like how the team responded quickly by squad and string and pulled themselves together, but our first string defense left a lot on the field and much to be desired.

This. McClowns stats are crap. He had command of the first team offense and did squat.

I know dope is legal in Colorado, but I didnt know it was ok'd in La.

First half was flat with McCown. Second half Griffen and Grayson
were the only bright spots. The two DB's injuries will have to wait and see.
No Drew at all. Most of the Who Dat's that I saw there were wearing Brees jerseys but they never saw him throw a pass. So I'm thinking all these Who Dat fans from the Balt/DC area dragged themselves to this game to see number 9. You would think they would have had him run a few a sets of plays. I think he gets paid for pre-season games.
However it was good to see a lot of fellow black & gold in the stands. Not to along ago I could count the Who Dat's on one hand at the away games around this area.

It's crazy that Griffen and Grayson looked much more comfortable in the pocket than the veteran McCown.

Based on what I saw, I'll be very disappointed if McCown stays instead of Griffen.

It's becoming common to NOT play your best players not just in the 4th preseason game but the first as well.
Look what happen to our CBs. An injury to your 20 million dollar QB would be a huge nail in the coffin.
He should play a ,title in the 2nd, maybe the first half in the 3rd and then none again in the 4th.

I agree it sucks for the fans, but...:doh:
