Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
1 Attachment(s)
Linebacker (8)
In: Stephone Anthony, David Hawthorne, Ronald Powell, Hau'oli Kikaha, Davis Tull, Ramon Humber, Dannell Ellerbe, Parys Haralson Out: Henry Coley, Jerry Franklin, Anthony Spencer, Marcus Pierce-Brewster Analysis: Spencer vs. Haralson will be the veteran battle to watch. I'm giving the nod to Haralson this round. Spencer cost the team twice with neutral zone infractions Thursday night. He can't make those mistakes. Tull will eventually go on injured reserve, but he has to count toward the 53-man roster right now. Secondary (9) In: Keenan Lewis, Brandon Browner, Delvin "Chip" Breaux, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Damian Swann, Jairus Byrd, Kenny Vaccaro, Rafael Bush, Vinnie Sunseri Out: Kyle Wilson, P.J. Williams, Terrence Frederick, Brian Dixon, Kenny Phillips, Jamarca Sanford, Pierre Warren, Travis Manning Analysis: Swann's nice interception displayed why the Saints are higher on him than Williams through all of the practices and early offseason workouts. He has to clean up those penalties, though. Injuries are a major concern with this group after the Ravens game. The roster shake up alters if the wounded miss some playing time. I could see the Saints hanging on to Williams and then plop the rookie on IR. http://imgick.nola.com/home/nola-med...eddd420a58.JPG read entire article here |
Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
I think he's right about Spencer vs Haralson. I think only one of them makes the cut.
Boy idk about the WR. Everything I'm hearing from you guys is Snead is tearing it up. I would think he's making a serious case to get a roster spot vs going to PS. Interesting battles all over. |

Saunders was the first time in a long time we has a return game
Please no |
Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
I would keep Warren over Bush 6 days a week and twice on Sunday. I look for Spencer to make the 53 also. Dixon shows promise and our secondary has a little glass to some of them so he gets the last spot.

Kikaha got schooled in the Ravens game but as far as tackling, hussle and no quit he has in him this guy stays healthy we have us a star.

It sure would be nice to have tough choices at the LB position for a change.

Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
Out: Anthony Spencer?
what preseason game did he watch? Two neutral zone infractions does not over shadow the poor play of the others lost creditability right there IMO. |
Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
I doubt either makes it.

Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
I'd like to keep Josh Morgan... He's not particularly flashy but he can do the dirty work and block when needed. I don't think we have a single other WR who can block.

Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
Vinnie Sunseri had a butt load of coverage mistakes starting last week. I would hope he is on the way out. We have a ton of safeties and a few that can play corner also. I think Phillips will stay for now because of his ablilty to play both. Spencer caused havoc when in the game. I believe he stays also.

Sunseri and Warren are guys we need to keep developing.

Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
Why are people inking Hawthorne in again as a starting ILB? He should not even make the roster. Just like last year, he over-runs plays and/or does something (actually, doesn't do something) that allows runs right up the middle where he's supposed to be.
Using just 1 play as evidence: see 2nd Quarter, 7:11 mins and watch him make a bad read and take a false step to the left then fall away to the right completely....way....out of the play. Literally didn't lay a finger on a RB running right at him Was part of the problem in the middle last year (along w/ Butler making most his tackles well downfield and w/ our interior DL). Please cut this guy whether we give LB Coley a chance or not. |

I looked up #37 to see who kept allowing WRs to get behind him on those 3rd/4th and long. Cut Federick. Liked the UDFA rookie in a pinch last year. We're too much better this year for him to make it. Cut #24 Wilson clearly. Roster spot for Swann. |

I don't think we keep Snead if we try to get him on the practice squad

Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
Can someone please tell me, what the saints see in Joe Morgan.

Speed kills, but you need to catch the ball.
|
Re: Josh Morgan in, Jalen Saunders out in latest 53-player projection
Both Morgans were a disappointment
We always hear Joe Morgan is working on running short routes but to me he doesn't have the concentration to catch a quick slant Its like he tries to run before he watches the ball into his hands. Josh Morgan made a great catch and then didn't secure the ball which then got knocked out, that was a huge turning point. |
