Tom Brady shreds depleted Saints secondary in final practice
 

I'm fully aware it wasn't a fair fight between the New England Patriots' Tom Brady and the secondary for the New Orleans Saints on Thursday.

The Saints were without many of their defensive backs (Keenan Lewis, Brandon Browner, Jairus Byrd, Kenny Vaccaro, Delvin Breaux) in team drills. The likes of Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Damian Swann, P.J. Williams, Kyle Wilson and Brian Dixon were responsible for trying to contain Brady.

They had no chance. It was a clinic.

Brady completely shredded the Saints during the two teams' final practice at The Greenbrier. Five of Brady's 18 passes went for touchdowns in the situational team drills. Brady only tallied two incompletions, but neither were his fault with Rob Gronkowski dropping the ball on those throws.

He shreds a lot of secondaries. He's done it all his career. It's why he will go down as the best QB to ever play the game and had the rings to prove it.

I'm not concerned that he was able to "shred" our 3rd and 4th string DBs. I'm concerned that the report says there was no defensive push from our line. THAT concerns me. We can have HOF DBs back there, and they'll eventually get smoked if there is no pressure up front.

That is one consistent negative I have heard all camp. Our D could actually be worse than last year.

My concern, right here:
This wasn't all on the secondary, though. There was no real threat of any pass rush by the first-team defense. So Brady could stand tall in the pocket and fire at will.

Thank God we gave Cameron Jordan an extension. I mean how could we manage without him? Should have traded that fat over hyped POS for a first or second rounder
