Saints and Falcons will now have Mercedes-Benz stadium names?
 

In a move bound to create conversation, the Mercedes-Benz will now also share naming rights with the Atlanta Falcons new stadium.

Let Benz pay the balance of the agreement, the Superdome goes back to being referred to as The Louisiana Superdome (or New Orleans Superdome, either one), and the Clowns can have the Saints sloppy seconds.

Mercedes has several classes, including the elite S-Class.
They also have an affordable A-class which is a hatchback.

As long as they distinguish between the two stadiums I'm okay with it

I don't like it. I didn't want a sponsor in the beginning but Mercedes Benz has improved the look of the Superdome.

Mercedes needs help with market research in US sports. This is a major faux pas. Not cool at all. Just because you can do something does not mean you should is how I see it. These team hate each other. The hate for some is stronger than the love for their own team.

Does it matter? Nobody refers to the Dome as the Mercedes Benz Superdome anyways.

It matters to me. I'm in the market for a luxury car. They were in the mix but not anymore. I hate the Falcons. I hate them with every cell in my body. Front runner now is the new Cadillac that is replacing their SRX. The SD with a Caddy endorsement would fit much better IMO.

I agree, but will also say that naming rights are the biggest waste of money in advertising.
The announcers say it maybe once a game, there is one graphic for the company at the beginning of the game, and that's it. 15-20 million a year, and how many cars are they selling based on a stadium name?
