New Orleans Saints reportedly attempted to trade for Niners tight end Derek Carrier

The Saints have found themselves dangerously thin at the position. Their top tight end at the moment is 34-year-old Ben Watson, while Hill has had somewhat of a quiet camp.

That's why the Saints made a play to trade for Niners tight end Derek Carrier on Friday, according to the NFL Network. He was ultimately traded to the Redskins for a fifth round draft pick.

We don't need to trade draft picks...

We're going to have a really good backup quarterback to offer in either McCown or Griffin...

We're going to be able to offer a wide receiver that could be a No. 3 on some average teams...

We're going to able to offer a safety (if we stick with J Byrd which because of salary cap ramifications...)...

Why the **** are we even trying to offer a draft pick?!?

Loomis is the last guy I'd bring to a car lot to negotiate in a trade...

When are they going to learn that draft picks are GOLD!!!

Especially when we keep overpaying in contracts!!!
