Saints defense takes step in right direction against Patriots
1 Attachment(s)
It’s difficult to know what to believe.
On one hand, the Saints smothered Tom Brady’s passing attack without cornerbacks Delvin Breaux, Brandon Browner and Kennan Lewis and safeties Kenny Vaccaro and Jairus Byrd on the field. On the other, wide receivers Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell, Aaron Dobson and Brian Tyms and tight end Rob Gronkowski weren’t on the field for the Patriots. Considering the way Brady lit up the defense during joint practices this week, with those same receivers not on the field, it’s meaningful that Brady completed only 2-of-5 passes and the Saints defense forced three three-and-outs to start the game. http://imgick.nola.com/home/nola-med...8-standard.jpg continue reading here |

I was a lot more relaxed after watching our defense play Saturday. The 4-3 looks to be our base package this year.

As long as a couple of players are not making 90% of tackles like last PS late I think that is a great sign. The experience may be lacking but it will improve. Attitude though, have to have it. The moments of attitude and gelling of everyone last year were few and far between.
