This pushes any potential suspension back a year if that's the injury.

That wipes out 2 years of his career for all practical purposes. Better be saving his $$$

Re: Be extra glad we let Jr go

There are several types of potential causes or reasons for sports injuries: But a lot of sports injuries are most commonly caused by poor training methods and unsafe exercising or training environments.

The most common cause of injury is poor training. Of course injuries can be caused by freak accidents, one-in-a-million type bad plays, practially on the level of fate or chance; but really that is not nearly as common as you might think.

If you attempt to play the game of football at a high level, with other competitors, and you're not 100% mentally or physically in gear, if you're not at peak conditioning, if you're not mentally focused, and the bodies are colliding and flying around? That is a prime time when people might get themselves hurt.

We'll never know, but one has to wonder if maybe the off-field distractions and the crazy lifestyle, maybe had something to do with Junior not being 1000% in peak shape and focused on the practice.... That could certainly cause a bad injury of this sort; in fact it's far more likely that could be a factor, rather than it being pure chance or fate. If one team mate is playing at 100% and the other was partying or distracted or believing his own hype, and only playing at 80% of his potential, which one of them is more likely to get hurt during practice?

I guess he can sit around and play himself on Madden. After all, he is his own biggest fan.

Not great news - regardless of what happened with him I wouldn't want him (nor anyone else) to go down with an injury.

normally, this is my stance, even for enemies. but Jr took it to another, very personal level, and went way out of the bounds of decency.

I know we never wish injury on a player, but this couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Good ol' Walt sums it up pretty nicely over at Walter Football:

Redskins DE/OLB Junior Galette out for season (torn Achilles): 5/10 Disaster Rating
I almost never cheer for injuries, but I can't say that I'm too upset about this one. Junior Galette shouldn't be in the NFL right now, and it appears as though he'll have to wait until 2016 to take the field again, as he's done for the year with a torn Achilles.

I say good riddance, but the Redskins are obviously hurt by this. Their defense was already weak, so losing one of their few play-makers will make the unit substantially weaker. They'll have to use a rotation of Trent Murphy and Preston Smith across from Ryan Kerrigan, which is not ideal; otherwise, they would not have signed Galette in the first place.

Now, I don't think this matters all that much because Washington wasn't going to make the playoffs anyway, so why the 5/10? Because the Redskins look so incredibly stupid. They gave a proven scumbag a second chance just to improve their horrible chances - effectively, a deal with the devil - but now they won't get anything out of it. This is karmic justice at its finest.

Wrap a chain around it. JR don't do IR. Five years from now, guaranteed broke. Probably in jail. Possibly dead. Real. Sad.

I think ya'll are being a little unfair here. How could anyone even understand what JR was putting on twitter and instagram. I mean, do you all own some sort of decoder pin to translate his twitter rants. For example:

I bes sayin my chain hang low to da flo 40 million blah blah blah
Sean Peyton be hatin on Zach Strief ons desperates house wifes vicidon series pt. 2
Dem Saints be like up in here whodat dawg son Cuszin

Until we can translate these hieroglyphics, let's not make these terrible accusations. :)

Know what's funny, he now will be sitting this season due to injury, which means once he's disciplined (probably 4-8 game suspension) it would come effective next season...Who the hell is going to want to sign a guy that will sit at least 1/4 of the year and is coming off of an Achilles.

He may come back, but this is a shot to his career. He's a speed rusher, he may never be the same. What do you guys think? Journey man for 2-3 years and then out of the league?

I say he has played his last game. With nothing to do over the next year he'll probably end up getting busted with his homies in one way or another.
