Saints center Max Unger reworks contract to clear cap space, per report
Finally a bit of good news!
According to a report by ESPN’s Field Yates, the New Orleans Saints and center Max Unger have agreed to restructure his contract. The deal converts $3 million of Unger’s $4.5 million base salary into a signing bonus, a type of move GM Mickey Loomis and the Saints are known for doing. The contract adjustment creates an extra $1.5 million in cap room. His 2016 cap hit will go up to $6 million. Something may be brewing down on the bayou.
