The Saints announced their captains for the 2015 season, and three of them are new to the role.

On offense, the captains are Drew Brees, Zach Strief and Benjamin Watson. On defense, the captains are Cameron Jordan and Brandon Browner. The special teams captain is Thomas Morstead.

Watson, Browner and Jordan are the three new captains for the Saints. The team normally votes for two offensive captains, but Watson was added as a special third captain.

"He deserves every bit of it," said receiver Brandin Cooks to Katherine Terrell of NOLA.com. "A guy like that, everyone in this locker room, the coaches included, respect a man like that.”

Browner and Jordan take the place of Junior Galette and Curtis Lofton as captains. Both Galette and Lofton are no longer on the roster.
