New Orleans Saints fall to Arizona Cardinals, 31-19, in season opener
1 Attachment(s)
The New Orleans Saints couldn't quite get the job done on Sunday afternoon against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Saints (0-1) trailed by eight points and had the ball with less than two minutes remaining, but, needing 97 yards, the offense sputtered and punted back to the Cardinals on fourth down. On the next drive, Cardinals running back David Johnson caught a short pass from Carson Palmer and raced down the sideline for a 55-yard touchdown to seal a 31-19 win for Arizona at University of Phoenix Stadium. The Saints have not won a road season opener since 2006 at Cleveland, falling to 1-4 in Week 1 away games under Payton. http://imgick.nola.com/home/nola-med...a4b768104f.JPG read more |

Yep... What I predicted. No Spiller. No Graham. 25 new players. Common sense. :brood:

Edit: Some of these PI calls in my opinion were bogus. |

Yes the Graham deal is rearing it's ugly head early.
In fact SP reportedly drove through the night and stood at the empty basketball courts at Community Christian. He could be heard muttering.....Jimmy...Jimmy...Jimmy. |

disappointing, even for us. |

I agree with K Major, some questionable PI calls. Also, I don't agree with punt, or understand how payton thinks it would have been "aggressive" to go for it on fourth.
The chances of you getting 6+ yards have to be higher than you getting another three & out. The Cardinals had been averaging nearly 5 yards per carry all game on our D. |

nay get flash backs on that last TD for the cards? same play the Seahawks used against in the nFC Championship game a few years back. just to the opposite side.
Still have no faith in the saints defense to win a game. especially at the end. |

Its still monday. Nice post! On the Pass Interference, we're playing FlagFootball now, and you'd better adjust to not being able to breathe on the receiver now. Those calls are the norm in today's NFL. The George Atkinson days are over. |

Made a drinking game yesterday every time the announcers brought up jimmy or anyone watchin the game said jimmy.... I was drunk at halftime

They need to do a commercial for Snickers. Jimmy. Jimmy. Jimmy. You're not you when you're hungry.

in today's NFL, its PI if you look at the WR in an aggressive manner

Re: New Orleans Saints fall to Arizona Cardinals, 31-19, in season opener
While teams do from time to time get called for a bogus pass interference or holding, the Saints get called for stuff that most teams get away with on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the league, Dallas, Ravens, Steelers, and 49ers can shove an apple in your mouth, hogtie you, hoist you over their shoulder, then roast you over open coals in the middle of the field while the refs go on fiesta. And Peter King can quote me on that. |
