Will Spiller be back this week?

Hard to know what limited means. It might be that he did everything but getting hit.

No. It's been said as much. I don't think we see him till week 4. Is Hightower in team or released again?

God I hope Payton sticks to his MO and eases him back in.

Does it really matter SP has no idea to use RBs anyway and Spiller will just find another bump or bruise to get back in the ice tub

Hightower was released for Joe Morgan

I guess it'll be cool to see what he brings to the table... Problem is that two years ago the rest of the league figured out how we use guys like Bush/Sproles/Spiller. If Spiller being in the game draws coverage away from someone else creating an opportunity then that's good, but Payton's offense reached it's peak in 2011 and it's stale now.

Spiller is nothing like Bush/Sproles. Bush is scatback with limited run sight, normal speed, and not a fighter. Sproles is a little speed midget with limited run sight, but hes so damn small defenses lose where hes at. An upgrade to Bush.
Payton has a good eye for RB, but rarely gets what he wants. He wanted B. Lynch more than everyone Ive seen, but couldnt land the deal.
He wanted Spiller out of college also.
Spiller is on a whole different level. Kid is fast, has full 1/10 second sight, and foresight to see down the field. Plus a fighter, probably why he got hurt on a crappy Bills team. Walked into the NFL and was ready to go day one. No lets wait till ingram get it. Hes a Deuce type RB mentally, nothing is good enouph. People might forget spiller was Buffalo. Watch their OL they suck. Kids got heart in spades, and a natural real RB to back it up. ITs no wonder to me payton wanted him.

I wouldnt even put them in the same discussion. Spiller makes holes. Everyone knows I have my own oppinion here, and willing to take the lumps if wrong, but Im not about this guy. Spiller is going to suprise alot of the Who Dat nation.

Re: Will Spiller be back this week?

Pherein, with all due respect... You missed the point. Payton will probably be using him the same way we used Bush and Sproles. Teams have figured it out. Yes Spiller is talented, but I guarantee teams know how we plan on using him and will see it coming a mile away.

Chris I think your missing the point. Spiller doesnt care about SP plan, he wants TDs. Thats my point. Hes not the same at all. and even in the same roll, hes better than both of them because he can actually run. Remember how Bush used to look back running, thats a very stupid thing you see in none natural egotistic RB's who think they have talent. Eyes should always be forward running your heart out till you get 7 like Deuce. You never look back or your an idoit.

I want it to work Pherein believe me... I guess I've just become a little frustrated with Payton's play-calling these last couple years. I'm definitely hoping you're right and I'm wrong because that would mean great things for our team!

Yeah I know man, we all do. I get were your comming from. But you have to get RB's. Its an art form. Equil or better than QB. Your born with it or your not. Some have speed, like spoles, usually that doesnt help in the NFL without an easy hole.
Some have 1/10 second sight, seeing without seeing, walter payton, sanders, brown. They saw what you cant see, run with instinct, juke move, twist, make a hole from nothing by using the D against themselves.
Foresight is seeing were the seconday is in a second, knowing where they are going and the right angle to cut in out and blow them off their mark.
Rarely you find a RB that has all these things. AP has it, spiller has it. Though spiller is weaker and faster as a halfback, AP is more of a perfect half back/fullback morph.
Our OL is waay better than spiller ever ran with, and still kicked ass. Im not worried about spiller at all hes tough, more worried he runs cold because he doesnt get enouph touches. That can mess up your game. When I ran I needed hits to get me pissed and going. But the kid has IT, and you cant watch him on the horribles Bills and not see that. I think he helps alot. He doesnt care about SP's plays, he wants TD's and to run. I didnt either, 3-4 , 3-15, omaha 4 I never cared, if the hole wasnt there Id find one, wanted TD's and yards, hated being tackled. Spillers the same.
Look at the video when the falcon grabs him before a TD, he is PISSED off. Thats an RB.He dosnt give a dam that he made 60 yards.

Re: Will Spiller be back this week?

four field goals to go with only one touchdown is not the recipe for winning with a defense like ours. 0-3 with two division losses is not what we want. If we do an act of God is all that can save the season.

1-1 is acceptable and expected.

Tampa looked like a wreck last week but I am not banking on that team showing up Sunday. This is the NFC South and anything can happen and usually does. Spiller even in spot duty as a decoy would be a big help.

Line, Odds and Point Spread: -10 New Orleans, 47.0 O/U
Prediction: New Orleans wins but will not cover the spread.

2-1 is perfect.

Now against the Panthers it must be all hands on deck. So he has this week to to get his feet under him and next week to get as close to game speed as he can. he has to play.

It does not get any easier. Cowboys and @Eagles

Then the Falclowns come to town.

3-3 with 3 division Worse case and still have hope

These next two games are huge.

Spiller must get up to game speed ASAP If he can be a decoy in the Bucs game that would be huge. Cooks impact would sky rocket

So putting the cart back in front of the wagon Bucs must fall. Spiller would be a huge help. We have yet to see what SP has envision when he add Spiller.

1-1 is acceptable and expected.

Remember Cincy game from last season. They got destroyed by Browns and the very next week they owned us. Don't underestimate Tampa.

Last game of the season Brent, can't hold anything back...

Oh, wait - nope - week 2

We need to hold him to week 3 if he's not 110%. That Carolina game will require all hands on deck.

ScottF 09-18-2015 10:08 PM

Re: Will Spiller be back this week?

I echo what a lot have said- don't risk him if he's not 100%.
We are 10 point favorites against a team that lost by 28 at home to a team that won 2 games last year.
If we need a guy who is going to average 12-13 touches a game, we are in trouble
