Drew Brees: Saints better this year because they have 'better people'
 

METAIRIE, La. -- Drew Brees has talked before about the character and culture issues that plagued the New Orleans Saints locker room last season. But he offered his most blunt assessment yet Wednesday when asked to explain why he thinks the Saints are an improved team from last year.

"Better people," Brees said. "Better guys. Guys that care about one another, guys that trust one another, guys that care about the process."

When asked if he was referring to several players the Saints parted ways with, Brees said, "Oh I don't know, I can just tell you the feel is much different."

There is a lot of youth on the team now and some savvy veterans. I really hope the group can come together and gel as a unit.

They have much better people, just not talented, smart or healthy.

I would venture to guess that he's specifically referring to Galette, Stills, and possibly Graham. Galette alone would be enough to bring down a whole locker room.
