I predicted we would go 3-5 the first 8 games but then 7-1 the last 8. You can't win a lot with 32 new faces on your roster. They will gel!

While 3-5 is not what I want but I could live with it as long as we are 3-0 in the division. Win on the road in Carolina is always a good thing.

But it would mean the bare min for an acceptable season is reached:

Falcons do not sweep

We beat the Falcons at home.

That always takes the worse out of a losing season IMO. At the very least it gives me the comfort being able to say "It could have been worse". I know it is not much to hang your hat on but it is something

Ya'll could be right. Our schedule is certainly front-loaded for sure.

Combine all the new young guys gelling plus the weakening schedule and I can believe it.

I just hope we don't collapse and panic early and then lose all of our mojo for the 2nd half of the season.

From today's performance so far, against a team that got completely steam rolled last week and hasn't won more than 3 games in 5 years, I don't see us winning any.

0-8 is a very likely possibility

This team has all the makings of a no better than 5-11 record. And I feel like that's being optimistic.

So much would have to improve extremely quickly, and drastically for this team to be any better than that. The offense looks defeated. Drew has ZERO arm strength, by all appearances. The line wasn't good, but it didn't matter, because when he had time he was throwing wounded ducks, or hanging onto the ball too long and fumbling.

Payton took way too long to give the ball to someone other than Ingram. When he finally gave Robinson and Spiller some touches, we actually had some what of a running game and started putting points on the board.

The defense shows effort, but they still aren't that good. The pass rush was better, but we're talking about a team that just got beat by 4 touchdowns. The back to back fumble recoveries were great to see, and really the defense did everything right in the 4th (excluding Browner). But they were bad the first 3 quarters. Repeatedly torched for long passes or penalties down the field.

Browner is killing us. Couldn't cover anybody all day, and near the end of the game he had an easy tackle behind the line of scrimmage, but INEXPLICABLY he not only grabs his face mask, but puts his other hand on the back of his helmet... Why are you trying to tackle someone by his head, Browner? What a bonehead.

Hocker choked all over himself. I'm trying to condense all of my frustration, and I still can't keep this post short. This isn't even half of all the bad. The defense, while not all that good, is the only part of this team that shows pride.

I'm less optimistic about my 13-3 prediction now. I may have been a little premature.

I have a new prediction!

The Saints will set another NFL record but in reverse of the one they set in '09!

The Saints were the 1st team in NFL history to lose their LAST 3 games and make it to the Super Bowl, this year the Saints will be the first to lose their FIRST 3 games and make it to the Super Bowl!

I think this team will finish 6-10 if not worse than that if Brees misses any significant time. Without Brees, I do not see us winning next week in Carolina or the next week vs Dallas. That would have us 0-4 and with as bad as the defense is, the team would be demoralized. The run is over. The only question is how quickly the front office realizes it and prepares to rebound.

Well I got the 4-4 correct - although I had us beating Tampa and losing to Indy.

Now hopefully I get the 7-1 part right too!!! :)

It's interesting how times have changed. There was a coach in the 70's and 80's, Don Coryell who had the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Chargers offense doing what SP and Drew Brees are doing. He was labeled a "Genius." His teams also had "the last team with the ball will win" defenses. Why isn't Sean Payton being mentioned in the same breath as Don "Air" Coryell?
