Payton's Postgame Press Conference Sept. 20

Typical "give credit to Tampa, they played well", "we'll have to look at the tape".

Pay attention to his body language. I think it speaks volumes to where his state of mind is. Payton doesn't look like the guy he used to be.

What does the future hold?

I wouldn't read too much into the post game presser. He's got lots to do to get the team to improve. The cat pics are just to have a little bit of fun with the state of our beloved Saints. It's always good to laugh.

Did he say anything about Brees being injured?

Said that he wasn't aware until Carmicheal mentioned it. Didn't have any other information on it.

So what that means is... Brees probably tore something and is getting a MRI, that's why we ran the ball so much when down by 2 scores...

You know damn well that Brees arm could have been falling off but Payton would still play dumb until he ended up on IR. Expect Brees to look bad for the rest of the season only to tell us after the season is over that he was significantly hurt and was contemplating season ending surgery.

I'd almost be relieved for a backup to play. At least then we'd have something to blame.

They honestly look like they don't WANT to win. Lots of opportunities blown.

Vick has looked good not long ago and our current OL puts a premium on a run-threat QB.

Or, find a recent starting QB released from a poor team who gave up on too early. Maybe someone SP wanted in a past draft

The brees conference was worse. Larry Holder even wrote about how shocked he was because brees looked so depressed. If you watch the brees portion it was edited down from 9 mins to 5 mins, they cut out portions of brees mumbling and being depressed. No im not kidding go watch it yourself and you'll see a flash in the beginning and middle on where they cut out time.

Truly sad time to be a saints fan

It's obvious Payton and Brees both know they cannot fix this mess that has been building for years.

I believe if we properly rebuilt, as in cleaned house of Payton, Brees and possibly Loomis we'd have some decent players to be successful down the line.

One positive I saw was Stephone Anthony, the guy was constantly around the ball.
