Re: Will Drew be traded at the end of the year?
No!
A trade involves someone swallowing his current contract. I don't know a team that would want to take that hit. If the deal involved the Saints retaining the bulk of the cap hit, why even bother? |
Re: Will Drew be traded at the end of the year?
Can't a team make a trade dependent upon renegotiating his contract? Pretty sure there's a way for them to do that even if it isn't spoken about. Someone said his contract doesn't allow it without his approval. That is probably true and would prevent it.
I don't want to play the rookie yet. I don't want him to get discouraged with the way this team is playing |
Re: Will Drew be traded at the end of the year?
I'm thinking Brees will restructure and sign an extension that will help with the cap hit in 2016. We draft a big body WR with 4.3 speed with the 1st pick, get some more offensive talent in the early rounds of the draft. All of our young guys this year get experience and are better next year, but that next year. Listen it's any given Sunday. If we steal a win Sunday and then play a banged up Dallas team we could be 2-2. Anyway to answer the question no unless the next Andrew Luck is in this year's draft.

He's done for good. The injury he suffered while a Charger finally caught up with him. It was a miracle he ever threw the ball again and as well as he threw it. It was a hell of a run the likes of which we'll never see again. I'm thankful I was alive to witness it! Time to blow it up and start again but first the Saints have to tank the season to get the #1 pick next year.

Re: Will Drew be traded at the end of the year?
Crazy talk. Drew has 2 or 3 more good years left. We'll probably start seeing the nagging injuries rob him of a few games per season, but thats what quality back-ups are for, and its why we drafted Grayson in the 3rd last year.
Grayson should be primed to take over in a couple years and it'll be just like 2006 with a young stud QB and a roster full of young hungry up and comers. The future does indeed look bright. Its a shame many of you can't see through those doom and gloom glasses. http://kimkarpeles.com/wp-content/up...-and-gloom.jpg |
