With the #1 overall pick the Saints select...

I know it's early but with Drew hurt and possibly out a while or worse yet playing hurt there is a very good chance we secure a top 3 pick. Even know we grabbed GG in rd3 last year what's the chance we go after another QB like MSU QB Conner Cook or PSU QB Christian Hackenberg. Both would probably be a top 10 pick. I would trade back and get a butt load of picks securing the defense and WR position. Just a thought after seeing the Saints lose to the second worst team in the league.:pissed:

If DB is truly a goner, then we pull a Colts...

A Center to eventually become the starter in a year or two.

I say draft Nkemdiche or Treadwell and trade for AJ McCarron who I am high on.

Joey Bosa from Ohio State. May be the next JJ Watt

Re: With the #1 overall pick the Saints select...

I can tell you it won't be Hackenberg. He's absolutely horrible. He was touted coming out of highschool, but has done nothing in three years. I really don't see a franchise QB in next year's draft, much like this past year to be honest.

Which would put us in the old best player available mode. That being the case, IF we get that high of a pick it probably would someone like Joey Bosa or Robert Nkemdiche, as others have mentioned above. It's been said for a while that Bosa could be the top pick, but Nkemdiche is picking up some steam.

We could certainly use an elite WR, but I'm not sure there is one worth taking that high yet. As the college season goes along maybe someone else will stand out.

Sounds like we better wait before we tank. Not enough good QB's available.

A stud 3-4 NT, a stud G, a sure handed big body WR, a SS, and RT. The nose could shore the front 7 a SS that is an enforcer for the backfield(Vacarro will never be Polomalu) a G to take Evans aging self out to pasture a a WR that can contend with cb's.Fire the entire D staff and get a true 3-4 DC in with the staff he chooses not like Ryan was dealt. I can't help feel sorry for Ryan the way he was done.

We need to get the best QB available whether in the draft or FA to get us over the hump the next 2 or 3 years. Keep rebuilding. Payton is a great coach.

Re: With the #1 overall pick the Saints select...

Cody Kessler, from Southern Cal, is the only QB prospect I can think of just off the top of my head who kind of looks the part of an NFL quarterback, who is draft eligible. But I don't particularly fancy the idea of getting a USC quarterback. Carson Palmer has had an ok career. But then there's Mark Sanchez, Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley and John David Booty.

Seen a couple members mention this guy, Connor Cook (MSU). Not flashy, but his skill set translates nicely to the NFL and he's a franchise QB with the right H/C, IMO.

Kirk Cousins, Brian Hoyer, Nick Foles (transferred) and Drew Stanton are a few other former MSU QB's to make it in the NFL, though Cook appears to be the pick of the litter.

Seahawks, Eagles, Lions, Colts, Giants, Bears, Texans, and Ravens are ALL sitting with us at 0-2 and there are a lot of big name injuries out there just like us, it is way to early to throw in the damn towel yet.

you know i am fighting hard on this one but the season is not over not even close.

Iffffff

Pick 1 For sale at a fair price
(stay as close to 5th pick as you can without dropping out of the top ten).
Dream come true a 2017 1st rounder - 2 first for trade up ammo
2017 saints draft - Leonard Fournette

Back to earth? Top 10 you have to think franchise QB

Then there is

Jalen Ramsey, Florida State SSorFS plus a CB that has played LB also,

Given the Byrd conundrum and Kenny this might be the smart pick. he is everything Kenny was hyped to be. If Byrd is healthy Jalen would be the perfect SS to start next to him. maximize that investment.

then again players like ND OT Stanely do not come around very often. Might be the safest pick at OT to enter the draft since D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

Right now I am not ready to pack it in so

pick 20 Vadal Alexander, OG, LSU

Have you watched any games this year? I see no more than 5 wins and that is reaching. Drew is hurt and has no wr help.

But which team or teams are most likely to turn things around? We couldn't turn it around last year so what makes this year any different?

By virtue of being in the NFC East, probably the Eagles. Seahawks/Ravens/Colts would be my next guess, BAL's in the toughest division, the apparent resurgence of the Rams and the Titans might make it tough for SEA and IND. Giants are a mess, Bears are a mess and the Lions are the same ol'/same ol', they just fooled everyone with a weak division & schedule last year,.

With the slow starts, they might be playing for wildcards now, #nflparity.

How about after week 3? According to SP Drew will be out 4 more weeks at least. How about wr's that can't catch? What about a o-line that would have problems blocking a high school team? It's time to blow this team up and rebuild. Players gone next year should be Strief, Brees, Colston, Evans, and Byrd. If they do not correct this next year we will become the Browns and not have a winning season until 2035.

I like Alexander, thought he was going to be in last years draft. He is a stud.

Oh I don't doubt it will be ok but I promise you no playoffs this year. Evans, Colston and Brees are costing way to much money to play this poor. Byrd has played a total of 2 games out of 19. Time to cut bait and start fresh. This would free up close to 30 million next year if they were cut before June 1st.

Sean Payton said he is "optimistic" that Drew Brees will be able to return for the New Orleans Saints' Week 4 home game against the Dallas Cowboys. But it's a decision that will be made later in the week.

"The one thing that's certain is the day-to-day progress that he's made," Payton said. "So I would say optimistic, and we'll just pay attention to his symptoms and his strength.

"I don't know that there's more clarity [than last week]. The thing that's positive is the progress daily."

First off, blow me.You think I just made that up to impress you? You are not that important, trust me. Second, It came to my phone through a ESPN update while I was at the gym today. 3rd, NFLN said that they heard it was partially ripped. So when it comes back I am correct you can start by either saying sorry or just going away.http://blackandgold.com/saints/74344...ight-tear.html :dunce::dunce::dunce:
