Sean Payton calls report Drew Brees could miss several games “inaccurate”
 

In response to an NFL Media report that the Saints fear Brees will miss several games with a shoulder injury, coach Sean Payton said on WWL-AM in New Orleans, “I would say that report is inaccurate.”

With some teams, you can trust what they say about injuries. The Saints are in the Patriots school of you never know what to believe as they appear to be as unclear and deceptive about the information they give as possible.

I wouldn't put any stock in what Payton says. He said Byrd would play in the Tampa game too. I believe Drew will not start at the Panthers and we still won't know when Drew will be able to play. Seeing as how the season has started it will be a good idea to let Drew rest until healed.

Payton never talks about injuries before Wednesday, so the fact that he has even acknowledged Brees is "hurt" concerns me.

This could be a very long year......

Remember all of the 'screen passes in game one? I think that he was already hurt before that game and it just was made worse in game 2. Did you notice how many times he audibled to runs? Not playing this week. At least he shouldn't!

Why do people still ask coaches questions? Better yet why do people watch press conferences? I haven't watched one in years. I don't care about the media supposedly having a job to do. They don't get any information. When coaches decide they want to tell us something, they will tell us. All the prodding in the world won't get you anywhere.

The report Payton was asked about, was that the Saints "fear" Brees might miss the games. They may in fact already KNOW that he is going to miss them, and so they may not be "fearing" it anymore.
