Couple of bright spots today

We lost, but it wasn't all bad. McCown did pretty well until the final pass. A bright spot is not having to listen to the fans on this board, the handful of them that would absolutely be doing it, call for McCown to start. Had we won and that thrown been on the money..you'd be hearing it ALL week.

Browner, did well against Olson today.
Byrd, looked sharp in his play.

Ina all seriousness, thought kelemente did good. Think we have a really good nucleus of young guys and although we are a year or two away, if we can get lewis back and drew, and the line play the way they did today, well...who knows. I do think we have some really good young guyss.

Our young guys are the ones we can rely on - Kikaha, Murphy, Swann, Snead

It's the players like Browner, Watson, Colston, Cameron Jordan that are screwing us over.

We walk away from this game knowing that we have a decent back-up QB.
At least we know that the sky won't fall when Brees is out.

On the bright side ?... you can upgrade your season tickets next year...

You obviously watched a different game than everyone else if you think Browner had a good game. He was ABSOLUTE garbage!!

Bright spots....we are 0-3. There is no bright spots. A win would be a bright spot..you folks with your moral victories are funny.

Lelito is getting better, I think. Kelelmnte, did well. Peat will take over for strief either during this season or next. kika, anthony, swann, snead, breaux, good group. agree

Agree with everything except Jordan. He's getting pressure. Its just that we expect A-Plus play out of him and we're only getting B-plus play.

The rest on your list could retire Monday and we'd never know it.

We didn't win and I will tell you he absolutely SHOULD start, until Drew is healthy. He far outplayed anything Drew was able to do in the first two games, so there's no reason to rush Drew back. If Drew gets healthy, then I'll be more than happy to have him back, so long as he makes better decisions. McCown looked a lot more decisive than I have seen out of Drew in some time.

If you are looking for bright spots when we are 0-3 and lose a game we should have won, then that is the same as looking for moral victory.

I don't understand why we try to throw it high for Cooks in the endzone, we did it vs Arizona too! When be was covered by Patrick Peterson

If your throwing it to Cooks, put some air underneath it, let him run onto it or it falls incomplete

Re: Couple of bright spots today

SP needs to find the biggest pair of scissors he can find and cut off RR's hair and shove it in his ear. That would be a bright spot.

well no, it is not. That is your perception. There are always bright spots, even in a loss. things you did well, things you could do better. At least I don't have to listen to how mccown should be our starter, etc
sp for me, yes I saw some good things today. Saw some not so good ones too

Cooks did not sell the route very well either.

My apologies to Mr. McNown. You showed today that you deserved to be the backup on this team. On a side note, his arm is MUCH stronger than Brees.

I have a pretty good sarcasm meter, but I'm really not sure what the intent of your reply was. Do you disagree? I didn't say Luke is better than Drew at his best, but he was better by leaps and bounds from anything we have gotten out of Drew the first two games.

I didn't expect him to play anywhere near that well today, but after seeing that, I think we need to get Drew as healthy as possible and not rush him back. It doesn't matter what your name is if you can't throw it 15 yards.

With the first of the draft, saints select..... is that a bright spot?

dizzle88 09-27-2015 04:05 PM

Re: Couple of bright spots today

I hope there's a Calvin Johnson type receiver because we definitely need a guy we can rely on consistently

I couldn't believe it when we completely ignored WR in the draft, now SP thinks we can be successful with Colston who's completely done and Coleman who just jumps randomnly at a perfect placed pass.

Murphy did good today.

Re: Couple of bright spots today

ok on the bright side .... hold on I am looking .......... still looking........0-3 is clouding the issue

All in all i have to say the DL can not get pressure against a pack of nuns BUT they did show the best gap discipline I have seen all year. NUNS BUT GAP? check that box off

The second level of the defense is hard to judge. I ask for some one to run down onto the field and slap Rob if he called zone but nooooo not one person b-slapped the boy! Grade for the second level of the D is an incomplete which cam had issues accomplishing with all his completions.

Who is the genius that takes Cam only trusted weapon and put single coverage on Olsen or at the very least spy the guy?

What is the deal with calling zone coverage on third an short over and over again when it did not work the first 20 times?

Hard to berate the defense given these facts.

offense had some issue but Luke hung in there till the end. 3 drops on the second to last drive were a killer.

SP going deep into the end zone to the shortest player on the field? force feeding an issue a bit ya think?

The last play call were Ingram ended up with the ball was amazing. I like Mark to a point but the boy does not have that over drive gear to make a play like that at the end of a game. he was to far out in the parking lot to make it.

All in all it could have been worse so I am pleasantly surprised to a point.

They need to put Spiller in more. He looks more than ready to get more touches and looks.

During last game they were maintaining his knee with hot and cold treatments (after every play). So I guess he is not ready.

Give Marcus Murphy snaps on offense, he deserves them!
