OK, so we're 1 game off pace...
 

If you look at most peoples predictions this year, many predicted a loss @Zona, and @Carolina.

Most assumed we'd win against Tampa however so we're a game off pace.

Also, many predicted we might lose to Dallas and probably lose @ Philly.

So the consensus was after 5 games we'd be 2-3 or 3-2 at best.

If we win our next two we're right back on our 10-6 pace.

I ain't bailing.

If we start 0 for ___ we don't make it up. I think our record reflects a reality.
Truly, I'll never give up!!! If we ran the table... heck if we finish 8-8 I'll be in that number. But there are some bad things about this team I can't ignore.

Cards game was a loss as expected but we looked better than I thought.
Tampa was heart breaking. Drew shoulder maybe the reason for that one
Kitties I have to blame the defense for this one.

Cowgirls and eagles? better get this defense squared away or whoever takes the field as the QB will feel the pressure to score every time we have the ball. not good

Then there is the falclowns. NFC South game so records out the window but if we go 0-3 in the division we will need the Pope and his three friends; father son and the holy ghost to intervene on our behalf.

Leveling out at 3-3 before the colts is not that crazy or is it?

Even if Brees sits out Sunday Night's home game against Dallas I am still calling for a Saints win.

If we dont make the playoffs our record doesn't mean ****. This team needs to be blown to pieces starting with rob ryan and browner and eventually brees.

I front-loaded my traveling to games this year in case it was bad. Suspicion: Confirmed.

The only player who played like a super star today has never started an NFL game until today. I think we've found the future QB, no questions asked, it's the remainder of the team that is a question mark.

There were basic-blown coverages and lack of coverages that were mind-boggling. We put a rookie OLB in front of Greg Olson and he wasn't even stuck to him. Once Olson got by him he was to let him disappear into our backfield only to be found by the football. WHAT?!

I honestly think Rob Ryan lacks basic coverage concept. He makes no corrections and repeats errors over and over.

The constant bickering between Ryan and Payton reminds me of two brothers who fight at every opportunity and blame each other for everything. There were times that Ryan was screaming and ranting BACK AT PAYTON. Unbelievable.

Sean Payton has lost control of this team.

I'm with you. You know as well as anyone that I am usually pretty negative but there I something about this team that makes me think its not over.

I'd like to think optimistically & hope we can pace then overtake the Panthers & Falcons. We are 3 games back with 13 to play. We can gain 3 games on them head-to-head. However...

Right now, we can't stop anybody on defense and cannot put pressure on any QB on any team in this league. Our offense is stale, predictable, & can't score TD's efficiently in the red zone. We have missed two extra points which have come back to bite us in the last 2 games and we give up unreal field position after we score on return yardage.

We basically suck more than all teams in all 3 phases of the game; 0-3 confirms this right now. Yes, we have some flashes of brilliance like Murphy's punt return today and Kiki's sacks and Swann's coverage...love seeing this and I am excited when all the lights click on consistently for all of them.

But you are what your record says you are. 0-3. A young, "uncoached" team along with your future HoF QB injured for 1 1/2 of those games.

It can be reversed. These youngsters are talented...they are our hope. They must overcome our coaching staff.

Hope you don't mean that. He is nothing more than a backup. He played ok today but nothing great lots of short passes and a great pick at the end of the game.

I think they can win 11 games. But, reality creeps back in and I see them winning 6. The offense just has no margin of error with this defense. A simple penalty, dropped pass, or turnover leaves them coming up short.

The defense has no pass rush and isn't good at stopping the run. They have no play-makers at all and frankly just aren't coached well on top of that.

I love my Saints and so far have no problem rooting for and being hopeful on Sundays. They are competing. They have been in every game at the end. This week against a Romo and Bryant less team, at home in the dome, is the season. If they can't rise up, show up, and make something happen, it's time to pull the plug on the aging veterans and coaching staff.

Not bailing on the team, would never stop supporting, but we are the laughing stock now.

It's not that we're losing.

It's the ways we're losing. Dropped passes, no pressure, wide open receivers....breakdown after breakdown.

I am still confused by the way Ryan uses Browner. I don't think browner is a great cb by any means, but he is a pretty good press corner. I don't understand why we wouldn't put safety help over the top when he is one on one and then on the other long bomb, why we would drop him in a cover 3.

He looked good in SEA b/c he had a pass rush and 2 safeties named Thomas & Chancellor. OC's went after him up there. They went after him in NE, too.

Here he has no pass rush and two safeties named Jack & Squat. OC's still go after him.

ATL plays HOU, WAS, @NO, @TN (1-2 at best)

NO plays DAL, @PHL, ATL (3-0 baby!!!)

So by week 6 we'll be 1 game out of 1st place!!! :beer:

I don't know Danno, I agree with your CAR thought, but ATL is playing well enough to take 3 or 4 of those depending on what Saints team takes the field. And as far as us at 3-0, like I said it depends on which team takes the field.
Unless, ATL has an significant injury, we are playing for 2nd.

BUT, there is long way to go, and if we can just gel (and cover a TE), we can do it!

We are 0-3 rather than 1-2 and we've hung around every game.
Success on offense has spoiled us and the defense is as crappy as ever.
We scored some points we just need the defense to show.
Strong safety sit on Whitten, everybody else make the QB throw perfect throws...
We get win #1. I can't think of a better team to beat than the Cowboys.
I know we are struggling but I do NOT want to hear the Cowboy fan %$#^.
