Lamont Jordan is expected to test Free Agency this year........
He is a sure Starter though... I think he is a Hell of a RB, Better now than Curtis Martin, I can't Beleive the Jets are not gonna Try and sighn him early, maybe they are in cap troubles..........

AARon Stecker....JOrdan is good but our money is better spent elsewhere. why sign stecker tp be the backup and then turn around one year later and sign someone else?

Agreed! And Stecker can do more for this team. Stecker is the back who should be utilized on third down passing downs, screens, draws, etc.

I like LaMont Jordan just fine ... very talented, big mouth, etc ... but we don\'t need him. Stecker proved his worth when the chips were down last season ... I\'m sticking with him.

I think we do need another RB to back-up Deuce. A bigger more powerful back than Stecker. But he would be 3rd on the depth chart.

I may be labeling Stecker, but I think he\'s a complimentary back. I don\'t think he can be a number 1 for an extended period of time. If Deuce goes down, we need someone who can pound between the tackles. Leave Stecker\'s role alone. I would like to see him get more carries, passes etc, but right now Stecker is ideal in the change of pace, 3rd down, pass attack type.
I\'d consider giving Stecker the 2 minute hurry up offense instead of Deuce. Unless Deuce returns to the 225 speedster he used to be.

Ching, LTF, I don\'t think the plan is to replace Stecker. I think its all about getting a solid #3 with potential. If Deuce goes down for an extended period of time I don\'t want to depend on a Stecker/Ki-Jana (or Lamar Smith) combo to pick up the slack.
Stecker is good, which gives us 2 good backs. I\'d like to have 3.

I did not say we absolutly needed him, I did not even say we should go for him, all I stated is he will be starting somewhere this year..... I can not beleive the Jets will let him test FA, they need to groom Martins Replacement...... I would rather Bring someone like Ron Dayne Who could be probably be gotten for cheap, and could be a starter if Deuce goes down, Dayne needs a change of Location, to prove himself, that would give us three capable Backs.... and I would not let Stecker go........ \" Stick with Stecker\" But if Deuce goes down Stecker and Dayne would be ag good back up combo, by comittee.......
