Saints don't lack desire or effort; they lack playmakers
1 Attachment(s)
It could be worse, New Orleans Saints fans. You could be 0-3 and have to live in Baltimore. Or Detroit.
The silver lining to the Saints' forlorn start to the season is this: If you're going to have to endure bad football at least you get to do it in a place where the weather's nice. As you try to digest the Saints' 27-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers today and stomach the fact that they haven't won a game of any kind in nearly nine months, take solace in knowing things could be worse. You could be in Chicago, where a long season and even longer winter awaits. Otherwise, there's little comfort in 0-3. As Sean Payton said earlier this week, Clark Kent isn't walking through that door to save the Saints' season. "There's no magic answer," Saints right tackle Zach Strief said. "There just isn't. We're not doing the things you need to do to win games. It's the same things we talk about every week, and we're not fixing them. ... There's no silver lining. There just isn't." Yes, the Saints have been here before. They also lost their first three games in 2007 and 2012 and managed to claw their way back into contention both times. http://imgick.nola.com/home/nola-med...158-mmmain.jpg read more |

Defense is young. maybe to young. The offense has yet to have all the new faces on the field at one time.
theme for 2015? The saints need time to gel |

Too many mistakes.
Regardless of who's on the field. That's what's led to 0-3. I agree Payton had a solid game plan against Carolina and despite poor defensive play in the second half, almost got it done. But if we want to avoid 0-4, get the mistakes under control. |
Re: Saints don't lack desire or effort; they lack playmakers
I agree to an extent.
We have a lot of talent on the team, but we do have some holes. A big play WR to compliment Cooks. We thought we could get another year or two out of Colston, but he's been terrible. We had a very good pass rusher who went whacko with a belt and twitter. It appears age has caught up to a couple of our better linemen in Strief and Evans. Hicks was a perfect DE/DT on paper, and apparently thats where it stayed. Our best CB and best safety haven't played a game yet. Our 2nd best safety is out for the season after 1 game. Yes, we do have issues. |

Yeah, it does suck come Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb when it's cold outside and your team's still losing,.

Stephone Anthony - for the most part played well. I know he was flagged on that hit across the middle (I think they called defenseless) but the kid ain't playing. He is gonna lay your a@* out. Kikaha - progressing, had a sack on that scam dude. Technique will develop I just didn't understand why Rob is putting him out in coverage. Swann - swagger & confidence. Playing a tad better than his draft status. Hopefully Saints FO get these guys some help on the Dline (position coaches & players). |

Our rookies are definitely looking good. with so much fail everywhere else, I guess that is a bright spot.
