Romo on the Sidelines
Did anyone else find it more than annoying they kept panning to him laughing with his brick listening device like he was the one solely responsible for calling the play. I was hoping a mic would catch him saying, "See I told you, you can throw left, you did great!!!.."
So annoying...it looked like he was a teenage girl talking in that thing. |
Re: Romo on the Sidelines
I saw that too. Wanted to knock that SH*& eating smirk off his stupid looking Face!!

Re: Romo on the Sidelines
Sun & Mon Night Football has got a lot to do about pop culture...whoever 'those' moonbats are that are running that operation are required to have alternating Romo & Jerrah shots every 7 seconds to appease the NFL (Goodell) & the pop culture bandwagon masses.
Personally, I'd like to have seen Hacksaw Jim Duggan clothesline Romo while he was talking on his little 'thingy'...not hurt him, of course, but enough to break that silly talky thingy. The loss in OT was enough to wipe that smirk off his face... |

Re: Romo on the Sidelines
Romo out with injury = headphones on and laughing on the sidelines
Brees out with injury = going insane on the sideline, into every play, total professional, licking his fingers like a mad-man - like he's in the game... you got the feeling he was willing to do anything to rehab and get back into the game. Re: Romo on the Sidelines
I remember a QB who laughed all the time! Throw a TD: Laugh, throw a pick 6: Laugh! He was so happy win or lose!

Re: Romo on the Sidelines
This is why no one takes Romo seriously when people start ranking QB's. He doesn't come across as being very competitive. I thought Drew looked a little silly last week, but you never have to wonder if he's got enough intensity.

Re: Romo on the Sidelines
Never understood the Romo hate. He's a great QB. He's just on a team
that everyone hates. Don't forget that Payton tried to get him in 2006 before we signed Brees. Care to guess who's thrown more career picks? Romo or Brees? Care to guess who's thrown more picks in the last 5 years? Romo or Brees? |

Don't like Romo or his little smirks on the sidelines on his girlie, teen phone during a game where my Saints are struggling to get their first win of the season. |

I'll gladly compare the two, because it is close. One just plays for a team everyone hates. |

As for comparisons, Brees has been starting in this league a couple seasons longer than Romo, and Romo has missed a lot of games. He also has a much better offensive line these days than we have. That would be the reason for the INT difference. Romo is good, but not great. There really is no comparison, in my opinion. |

He has Dez Bryant, he had Marion Barber and Felix Jones (when he was healthy and was actually pretty good), he had Demarco Murray... Barber and Murray are certainly more accomplished backs than Mark Ingram. Romo also had Terry Glenn, and even Julius Jones had a couple decent years. Drew had McCallister for a whole year, and Payton refused to utilize Ivory because he supposedly had a fumbling problem. Sproles and Bush (sometimes Bush) were good players for us, yes. But there have been a lot of plug and play guys to go along with the talent we had. I see no evidence that Romo had any less at his disposal. He doesn't make the other guys better, is the difference. As far as our line, we used to be good on the interior, but we've struggled at tackle for a long time. Guys like Bushrod, Strief have needed a lot of help to keep Drew from getting killed. |

Romo doesn't bother me for some reason. It's Jerry that totally gets my goat. How many times does the camera have to spotlight his reactions.
I personally don't care what he's doing up there or seeing him on the sidelines. |

I'm not a Romo hater, I think Romo is a very good QB , but he was never elite like Drew. |
Re: Romo on the Sidelines
No one ever used the word elite to describe Romo.

Re: Romo on the Sidelines
I think there's too many variables involved to compare them. They're both good QBs,but I feel the main reason Brees is what he is is mainly because of Sean's system. Don't get me wrong, I think Brees has the edge over Romo because of his game preparation, comeback drives, and football IQ, but it's not like Brees was setting the world on fire in San Diego. I would choose Drew over Tony, but would be fine if Romo took over Brees' spot when Brees retired.

I only meant to say that he's not as bad as many say. I think he's near the top of that 2nd tier, after Brees, Rodgers and Brady. That's what I meant by close. Top 10 easily, and probably in the top 5 over the last 5 years. |
Re: Romo on the Sidelines
Who'd you rather have coming off the bench. MCcown or Romo?
