It's A Win!
Hey, we're not winning the big game this year. I expect we will miss the playoffs. But we're young.
We just beat a game Dallas team hurting worse than even we are. We clawed our way to a win. Now we need to beat a healthy team. Then we need to do it on the road. We're building. And from that perspective I like what I'm seeing. So many of us had high expectations. Rightfully or wrongfully. Either way, if you look at us from a building perspective we're cooking with fire. We have a long way to go. Last night was a big step. |
Re: It's A Win!
With the rookies we have I think we could be very dangerous in the coming seasons if we draft and treat Free Agency correctly.

Re: It's A Win!
Does it feel good? Yes.
Does it cloud my judgement? No way. We could have easily lost this game by two TDs |

But we didn't, which I guess is my point. Overly-optimistic as I may be sometimes, we have to win these first. I think Xan said '2 years' in chat last night. I'd buy that. |
Re: It's A Win!
That doesn't make me feel better. Honestly, we have to wait that long?

How quickly we forget...

As long as we keep improving each week we may sneak into the playoffs. The playoffs are about who's the hot team going in. It absolutely 100% could be us. My 11-5 prediction looks a little off now, but I think 10-6 is attainable. |

Last night I saw us shoot ourselves in the foot just as much as the previous games but one less time than Dallas did. Happy for the win. Not thrilled with the overall product. Health on defense is critical. O line still a work in progress... |
Re: It's A Win!
And a great one at that!!!

Re: It's A Win!
Until we are mathematically eliminated, we have a chance at another Lombardi.
The ONLY team in the NFC that concerns me is Green Bay, (still not sure how we managed to dominate them last year!). The rest of that division is a dumpster fire. The PEDhawks after tonight could have the same record as the Saints. The Saints could very well start the failclowns on a downward spiral in a couple weeks; I don't see them losing to Washington. The Yucs play the Jags so that one is a coin flip The kittens will be scratching in the litterbox on a bye week. No team in the NFC East scares me As much as I want the Saints to win the division, I will be happy with a wildcard berth! |
Re: It's A Win!
5-11 and we get 3 of those in late season.

Re: It's A Win!
I think it was just nice to see a win again in the Dome! It's been a long time!
GEAUX SAINTS!! |
Re: It's A Win!
we killed the goose egg ..... mission accomplished .... was not pretty but it's done
|
Re: It's A Win!
I'm still saying 3-5 in the first 8 then 7-1 last eight.
|
Re: It's A Win!
1-3 and pondering is this a turning point?
Eagles look beatable Falclowns are key Colts look human. NYG god knows what team will show up from NY Titians also can be had Not sure of what to think about the redskins Then the bye i am holding total judgement till the bye has passed. Falclowns are key Falclowns are key Falclowns are key Falclowns are key |
Re: It's A Win!
I am concerned with our lack of effective firepower on offense our receivers may be more tired than Julio.

Re: It's A Win!
See, I see it as more of an accomplishment and less of a 'turning point'. The latter assumes too much. Honestly the next two games will say much about whether we've turned any corner. Beat the wounded birds, then beat the dirty ones? Give me STELLAR protection for Drew and SOLID blocking for whichever back is hot and we're 3-3 with real life. Frankly I wouldn't hang my hat or either one. No way.
But I could talk myself into being encouraged even at 1-5. Straight face. Seriously. We're young. But now the kids know they can win a game like that, regardless of who is playing. Let's go out and beat a healthy team on a roll, like Atlanta. Then I'll join the corner-turning crowd. The way I feel right now I'd be happy just to keep that game close. And now, having said that, if you'll please excuse me whilest I go and wash my mouth with soap... http://cdn.meme.am/instances/57163709.jpg |

Looking forward to the Saints game on Sunday as well. Hope they can carry on with the same intensity and commitment that they had against the Cowboys! Also, nice to think that Drew has now had another week to make sure that shoulder is fully healed! GEAUX SAINTS AND GO FOXES!!!!!! :-) |
Re: It's A Win!
Happy for the win. We did look like a new born fold trying to stand on our legs. It will take some more time for this team to gel on both offense & defense. I must say I do like their enthusiasm. They seem eager to learn & to perform at a higher level. It is promising for the near future.

If we were to take the first wild card we could end up playing @NY, @GB, @Atl or Ari/Sea. NY and GB's defenses don't scare me, giants are the type of team to play their best when facing other top defenses like you saw with the bills and last year with the rams. Eli also is not the same qb and there is no way they would score 51 against us like 2012. GB is lacking Nelson. We have been close in all of our games with them since 2005. Brees has actually outplayed Rodgers in three of the four meetings. Then it is the NFC Championship game where we are the "hot" team at the right time. I don't know about Seattle but we already know about Arizona. Giants beat them in 2011 playoffs playing them a second time. And that led Harbaugh to start to figure that stuff out as they beat GB four straight times in two years. Arians has not faced that yet. We could catch them off guard. And I don't think Carolina has a chance to win in Arizona, but if Seattle is that last wild card they WILL win because they just went to Arizona. We cannot beat Arizona or Seattle in the wild card round though or divisional, which it looks to me like GB/Atl will be the top seeds. |

The Falcons hype is done. Someone was talking about 16-0 last night before the game. They better stop talking like the division race is over before they lose 8 more games. Like I said, our team is gelling at the right time and we will win most of our remaining games. I will predict that we will lose to Atlanta and maybe the Giants but the rest we should win folks. So get back on the bandwagon because the SAINTS ARE MARCHING IN BIATCHES! |
