We cannot be a spread the ball around offense with a older Colston, he limits that. I feel SP should have realized this and went after at least one receiver in FA. In fact have we put our season's hopes on Colston? I would say last year Colston was mainly why we missed the playoffs.

We went for 2 in two scoring drives against Carolina and failed in both. Had that not happened and Hocker converted his PATs if given the chance then we are in position to kick the game tying FG and before that maybe running the clock out. We COULD have been 2-2. That's why SP is insane thinking we can go for two from now on with our offbeat offense. Hocker didn't even miss a PAT.

Honestly Patterson would be great for us. Look at what he did when he had a pocket passer throw him the ball. He does not fit in that offense because TB does not do what Cassel did. If Cassel can make him look good, so can Brees. And that would be great for Cooks.

To me he's really a TE and TE's take a beating in the NFL, I honestly don't know how he even lasted this long. A lot of his catches, very exposed. Maybe some hand injuries....I don't know but we are really missing the consistency we had in him and Moore. At times, they both looked unstoppable. Now, everybody is stoppable most of the time.

He's the ONLY one doing good. That doesn't help things. We can say its the OL but if that great protection happens is Colston and Coleman gonna make plays for Brees conistently in a game?

Colston made some big plays for us last year. For him it was a bad year but it wasn't a bad year. This year is a different story. (So far.)

Fumbling against SF and Atlanta in OT took us from 9-7 to 7-9. Hopefully he's better this year, but I did see one catch he didn't make against Dallas.
