For the last two weeks, New Orleans Saints quarterbacks have been sporting a new accessory on their wrists.

Luke McCown had one at Carolina. On Sunday, Drew Brees was wearing one against the Dallas Cowboys.

It's a wristband listing certain plays, and Saints quarterbacks are using it regularly for the first time in coach Sean Payton's tenure to shave just a second or two off the time needed to communicate long plays.

i'm for anything that helps reduce the chance of them burning a timeout since Brees has to recite a novel each time they are in the huddle

I still believe it's more how long it takes for Payton to call the play to Brees.
