Payton said rookie progress has been more evident on defense because they are playing in games. "All of them each week are learning and getting a better feel for the pro game," he said. Added Payton: "I think his confidence is good. I mean, shoot, he's a first-round pick at left tackle. I think he's prepared and he'll be ready to go."
