Games like this...

It is games like this that are making me wish I lived in a state that doesn't have a NFL team so that I could be a fan of a team like the Packers, or Steelers.

I have to be 100% honest, if I didn't live in Louisiana I wouldn't give a fat rat's ass about this team!

Since 2006 they have had the opportunity to be something special but have managed, for the most part to piss it away.

Sometimes I wish the Saints would leave New Orleans so that I wouldn't get upset about them losing to teams they should dominate, which IMHO is how this season has gone.

Awful day. Felt like a team displaced due to mother nature but, there was no mother nature involved, only awful play. Colston, love the guy but time to go. Drops are now consistent. It's time. Cooks, find a way to get open like other #1 draft picks. Keeps hanging out way underneath the marker and still can't get open. He pretty much sucks. The only one making plays is Snead.

I feel your pain WhoDat!656. I left New Orleans in 1988. Lived in Alabama (no NFL) for 12 years and South Carolina (no NFL) for 9 before moving to Indy 6 years ago. I'm still a Saints fan but don't live and die over them.

The party is over and people are just starting to see it.

Ok so the party boat is taking on water what do you do? jump over board into shark infested waters? Or do you start plugging and bailing to stay afloat? Me i am staying with the boat. still has plenty of beer to help me get through this. besides I have seen worse. true i have to pause and think after today but I am sure I have :)

now is the time for the real fans step up

Just me or does that guy in the silhouette look like Sean Payton?

I don't live in Louisiana anymore but I still live and die by my Saints. I'm disappointed of course. But I don't wish I wasn't a fan anymore. I've seen team much worse then this one. Lol.

Re: Games like this...

I'm of the school of thought that they did it before (SP/ML), they can do it again. No one else in the history of our franchise has taken us to the levels we have seen. Ever. If we clean house and our HC & GM move on (& they will/would get scooped up in a heartbeat), well that's not anything I'd personally like to see. To me, it sends us into a downward spiral at the worst possible time. If I were N.O. brass, I would give these guys my utmost confidence NOW MORE THAN EVER, and then challenge them to FIX it like they did the first time!!!

I guess that's why I'm not an owner of a sports franchise but that's how I feel. One of the best things about this regime, even more than one lombardi was relevance they brought to the Saints. I hope we don't lose it completely.

SP is just worn down, I have a feeling he's gonna leave after this year. I don't think he really wants to be here now.

In a way its understandable. First you have the shape of the organization when he got here. There was great success but I bet you it took a great effort and a lot of energy. Then you had the vicodin scandal. A divorce. Then the whole bounty gate debacle. It hasn't exactly been a smooth ride.

I don't know how old you are whodat, but it sounds like you didnt watch this team much before 2006. Dude, I remember just hoping we would win 7 or 8 games a year. I swear this team was cursed before we won the Super Bowl. I'm riding with this team till I die.

Think of it like this. We won a superbowl, there are like plenty of teams who have never won 1. WhoDat till I die!

Never lived in Louisiana, total insanity brought me to this team. Been insane since 1981 and still insane to this day. However we did win a
Super Bowl which I truly thought I'd never live to see. So I'm very grateful for that you see and that's one memory they can't take away from me. When they finally commit me and take away my belt and stuff
I'm just hoping they will leave me my Saints blanket. Who Dat!

Re: Games like this...

It's times like this that I wish I hated football. I envy people who walk in front of a television during a game and have to ask what the score is, because apparently reading the scoreboard right in front of their face is too confusing. Or they ask why the team punted on 4th down when they still had a down left... Being completely unaware of what happens when you don't convert on 4th down.

Those people can just check in and pretend to be fans whenever they feel like it, and not even notice when anything bad is happening. But since I am a football fan, I could never switch teams no matter where I live.

I am 52 and have been a Saints fan since I was old enough to know Louisiana had a football team. I live in Shreveport so it was, and sadly still is, rare to see them on TV.

I didn't get to see a lot of Saints games until the Mora era, so I am well aware of the Saints history.

My point is that there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for the Saints to play they are!

Even back in the 'bad old days' of the 70s at least the Saints TRIED! This bunch is just going through the motions!

I don't see that at all. I see a team that's frustrated and rightfully so. It's hard to win in this league, know it's cliché but that's a fact. This team is struggling mightily but they aren't going through the motions. At least not yet, we'll see as the season progresses. I think people soon forget days of old. I would rather watch this team than an Aaron Brooks & Haslett-led team and I can't even believe I am having to say that. Not even close.

Re: Games like this...

I kinda blame SP for this. He keeps players/staff that he likes instead of what we NEED...Vitt is here because??? Strief is here because?? We let Bushrod leave too early but paid Jimmy?? Mike Bell was the turning point in our run game and we let him leave after the superbowl?? He fires Spags and didn't even give the man a chance to build a defense
