Head coach Sean Payton told reporters Lewis had sports hernia surgery as opposed to a hip injury, which is what he was originally diagnosed with.

"It's fairly common and yet the recovery and repair can vary," Payton said, via Evan Woodbery of NOLA.com.

They misdiagnosed Jeremy Shockey in 2008 when he really had a sports hernia and he sounded off saying how incompetent the team doctors were.

Not surprising. I would say 50% of the staff including coaches seem to be incompetent. Might be more of Payton's pals working on the medical team, he needs someone to write the prescriptions.

From the trainers to the team doctors the medical staff is incompetent......just my two cents.
