I liked him.

Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Well that's interesting. Ellerbe has been missing practice this week so maybe there's something going on there.

Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Special teams hit-man!!!
Might be a good fit in some of our 3-4 packages as well. |
Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Always liked Dunbar, he outplayed Vilma in 2010 and the 2011

I forgot about him. Where's he been? Didn't he sign with Dallas or something a couple years ago.

Dunbar was always a thumper. I love seeing him back. Excellent special teamer and filled in great in the base defense whenever needed. The Saints gave him a chance to make more elsewhere.

Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Dunbar is 30 yrs old now... not ancient, but not exactly a spring chicken either. But if you want to compare to Ricky Jackson, he was in his prime at 30. At age 35 Jackson left the Saints after the 1993 season. He also made the Pro-Bowl that year and went on to play 2 more seasons in San Fran. But if you wanta compare to Vilma, he was pretty much washed up at 31.

Dunbar, our original project player, SB44 team member that got good and left and now returns. I like it!

Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Guess the defense will really start flying around and 'playing their balls off'!

Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Good move. Should be a solid backup for us.

Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Good to see him back! Always like the way this guy played for us!
I can't remember which game it was but I do remember that he once put a tremendous hit/block on a player that, as the commentator said at the time, "Dunbar de-cleated him"!!!! Welcome back Mr Dunbar!!! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!! I just remembered, it was a block he did when Reggie Bush returned a punt against the Vikings! |
Re: Saints bring back Dunbar!
Jo-Lonn Dunbar racked up some impressive stats while he was away. Williams was smart to hold onto as long as he did with the rams. Major concerns were his stats from last year. He received PFF's fourth worst 4-3 outside linebacker grade out of 40 qualifiers last season. So the question about age and decline are just.
Question is this, Why was he playing OLB? ILB is were he is best. But we all will remember his special teams hits. So welcome back and glad he is getting one more shot with black and gold. |
