New Orleans Saints' Jairus Byrd 'getting acclimated more and more' after return from injury
New Orleans Saints free safety Jairus Byrd said he is "getting acclimated more and more" since his return from a knee injury and subsequent setback that caused him to miss 15 consecutive games over two seasons, he said Thursday.
"I feel good, thank God," he said. "Just appreciative to be out there. You really don't understand, when you sit out for so long you just appreciate the moment, the games, being at practice. It's real, you know what I mean? You don't take stuff for granted." New Orleans Saints' Jairus Byrd 'getting acclimated more and more' after return from injury | NOLA.com |

If he stays healthy, for what?, 8 more games. Then he might have a year of playing time with the saints. So the head line seems fair. usually takes a year of playing time to adjust.

I am starting to think his impact is being felt by the season KV is having, anyone agree or disagree?

So I think your right and KV has and will benefit. Not taking anything away from KV here. He appears to be catching up with the mental aspects of football at the NFL level. He seems to be putting himself in the right spot at the right time to make tackles But I look at the KV and Byrd relationship in a different way. Is Byrds helping KV more beneficial to the secondary or is it actually hurting the secondary and limiting the impact Byrd can have on this team? I have always leaned to the latter in this debate. We need a cover SS back there with Byrd to maximize the return on that ridiculous contract we signed him to. KV needs to make some serious improvement to coverage skills if that is possible. He is a LB trapped in a SS body. So far all I see in his game is Roman Harper. Old school SS. Not what you need in the pass happy NFL at SS. But what the heck time will tell. I was always Stone Hands Harper fan. Still to early to tell Byrd needs to play to judge KV effect on his play. Right now KV is one of my favorite #3 safeties in the NFL. Like I said I am not taking anything away from KV, by today's set of rules a solid #3 safety is key and is very valuable. |

I'm still waiting for him to jump a route and get a pick.
Teams were scared of Darren Sharper after week 2 when he already had 3 picks, he still.managed 6 more the rest of the season. |

He is, so far, an almost non-impact player. I expected more. Is Sharper in jail?

Byrd needs to just suck it up, stay on the field, and make plays, preventing deep conversions...
