This could be a trap
I hope not but we are likely to destroy them but when we are likely to destroy a team we tend to be overconfident and it bites us. Well that was the case in the early Payton days and with rookies now on the team that could return. Also, Ellerbe not playing I am concerned about.

Re: This could be a trap
I agree!
SP needs to make sure they are NOT overconfident and that they have the right mind set before the first snap!! Then we will be ok! GEAUX SAINTS! |

I don't consider it a trap game only because we are not 6-1 or 7-0. We are 3-4, I don't think we can really get trapped. I felt we had a chance to lay an egg in Indy due to the divisional rival game on Thursday night that we won, but I don't think we will get trapped. That said, your concern is real, we have laid eggs going back to last year. We have had a tendency to come out and put no effort forth. I keep hoping that is behind us and we are ready toplay week in and week out. |

Re: This could be a trap
A trap game is when you are playing an obviously inferior foe. The Giants are not an inferior foe
|
Re: This could be a trap
There is no such thing as a trap game this year for the Saints.
|
Re: This could be a trap
When your 3-4 and lose a 27pt lead the week before you have no business being overconfident.

Re: This could be a trap
I dont think we're good enough to have traps.
We are still a losing team, today, according to our record, and the Giants are in first place. |
Re: This could be a trap
Eli is mistake prone. We start making him sweat, he will give us gifts. There running game is mediocre at best. There D is at the bottom in most categories except one, takeaways. If we stick to the game plan we have run the last couple of weeks, we win. Get the run going is key for our offense.

Re: This could be a trap
The only thing I'm worried about is Ellerbe not playing. He's doubtful, so he's probably not going to play much or at all. Hell he might even be out already.
The Saints are 3-1 when he plays. I don't think Dunbar has played with a team this year and he hasn't played with the Saints since 2012. |
Re: This could be a trap
Just saw Ellerbe and Hawthorne are both listed as "inactive". Looks like Dunbar is starting today????

He's not really gonna start is he? |
Re: This could be a trap
The game doesn't start for another hour and I'm ****ting my pants already. I really don't want to have something in common with Matty Shart.

This could be scary. The only other LB's on the roster besides our starters are Edebali, Tull, Humber, Mauti and now...Dunbar. |
Re: This could be a trap
Well I was right, but we pulled it out.

Re: This could be a trap
No trap.

Re: This could be a trap
Now Tennessee may indeed be a trap game.

And I'd agree that the Giants game was in no way a trap game and that Tennessee might very well be the trap game. |

Yeah, there's no way to define yesterday as a trap game. We own the Giants and I thought we might blow them out, but they aren't bad enough to overlook. They just can't beat us in the dome. |

Re: This could be a trap
The Dome magic seems to be coming back. But, the injuries to Swann, Ellerbe, Kikaha, and with Byrd and Vaccaro getting nicked up, it is a bit concerning. Throw in three emotional wins in a row and anything is possible. It will truly be a big test for the team.

True. But we all know how well we perform (or don't perform) with lesser QBs... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Saints have blown out the Giants in the dome going back to the Haslett era when Joe Horn pulled out the phone. Yesterday was the first close game against them at home in a couple decades, and we still won. That's why I said can't beat us in the dome... They haven't. That doesn't literally mean it's impossible for them to beat the Saints in the dome ever again. The Saints won at home, 45-7 in 2003, 48-27 in 2009, and 49-24 in 2011. We also beat them on the road, 30-7 in 2006. The only blemishes were losing to them in the katrina season on the road in what was supposed to be a home game, and in 2012 on the road when the team had just fallen apart. We've won 5 of the last 7 overall, and 4 were blowouts. |
Re: This could be a trap
It was a trap maybe because we didn't know what to expect. their running game was a mess, they had one playmaker on offense and that's it. I thought given how they looked against teams like Dallas, Philadelphia, Buffalo(even though they won), Atlanta that with how our defense was playing we should be able to throttle them but an expected good defensive game turned into a offensive shootout and to me that defines a trap.
Can our defense really play as bad another week against a weaker offense at home again? The offense is my concern here because Tennessee is good at exposing flawed offenses. |
Re: This could be a trap
This one's the test for the CROWD.
Its a noon start, which is always tough for NOLA, but this is the game we need the crowd to step up... get there early, start early, and raise 12 kinds of hell till the gun goes off. DO YOUR JOB - CROWD! |
