Technically Drew threw 8 TD passes.

Unfortunately one of them was for the Giants...

That one was squarely on Snead.

According to ESPN, Loomis and Peyton are demanding a $50 card.

Hard to ignore Drew's hot hand though... I don't think I could've resisted that kind of temptation.

Not sure if any of you have ever seen Rocky IV (Rocky against the Russian Drago), but I urge you to watch it (on Netflix now).

I know it sounds kinda funny, but man this game felt like watching that. It was just one hit after another.

Best game I've seen in a long long time.

That wasn't an interception. It was ruled a completion and fumble. Correctly so, I might add.

Yeah Snead totally blew that one. He had plenty of time to tuck that thing away and brace for the hit but, alas, he did not. Glad it didn't cost us the game.

Eli has started a billion games in a row and still hasn't won in the dome. Such are what some "records" are worth.

That was no completion. If it hit the ground, it would have been ruled incomplete if challanged.
Now if you want to talk about Willie Snead, I prefer this...

Yep, Drew's arm strength is gone. He's washed up. Hopefully can get a first and a third for him.

Snead actually did a lot despite the drop. He got a hand in there and also stuck his leg out to slow him down. It was a good hit on the defender at the end of the day. It happens and Snead will learn from it. He made a mistake but made up for it and some.

The other receiver was wide open...meh, great pass but he made it much harder than it had to be.

We look like we've been practicing on O. I like. But, can we please stop running the reverse? And, if we want to throw screens, bring PT back.

The other receiver was Brandin Cooks, who 5 minutes earlier dropped a wide open deep pass with no defender in sight.

I'm glad he threw to Snead instead of Cooks.

That makes sense now, I was not able to watch the game.

All I got to watch was the highlights. What I did see only reinforced the fact that given protection, Brees remains one of, if not the most, accurate passers in the game.

Several of the passes where thrown into pretty decent coverage where only a perfect pass gets the TD.

Watching the Pats - Jets last week, Brady consistently looked off receivers or dumped the ball in situations where Brees would have made the throw. If the Saint's had a D and a better O line, Brees would need a finger transplant for all the rings.

It certainly does appear he's recovered the arm-strength lost with that shoulder injury.

Plenty of zip.

He's one of the best when HEALTHY. Yeah it's nice to have more protection, but I've seen him play much better under pressure than he did down the stretch last year and early this year.

two of the last three games, he's also made better decisions. He's gotten back to feeling the pressure and moving around, instead of just standing there waiting for Brandin Cooks to get open. He's seeing the whole field, trusting his other receivers, and moving around when he needs to. And the receivers, in turn, appear to have gotten more confidence. The lack of spreading the ball and moving out of the pocket has been my gripe for about two years. When he got hurt, he was useless.

I said two out of the last three games because I saw a lot of standing around by Drew in the Colts game. Not sure what that was about, but obviously he got it corrected, and as Danno said he's got the zip back.

I have to disagree, my friend. He caught it and turned up field. I think the league has made us expect that almost any time the ball comes out of the receivers hands, it must be a drop. With that in mind, I wasn't sure how it was going to be ruled despite what I thought. But they actually ruled as I thought they should.

It always sucks when a quarterback gets charged with a pick because of a stupid mistake by his receiver, so it was due justice no matter what anyone thinks of the ruling.

The O line also seems to be coming around. That was a lot of Brees' problem last year. No time for receivers to get separation so he just checked down to the big target. His completion percentage was good but not the YAC.

Even though Cooks isn't putting up huge numbers it appears Payton is getting value out of him. His acceleration and speed means he can quickly spread the D, opening up the middle routes for the likes of Watson and Sneed. That wasn't happening last year.

Few people said he was washed up, but many said (myself included) that he didn't have the arm strength. And we were right. No one told any of us that he had any kind of an injury until he got his shoulder trashed against tampa bay, and we KNEW he was messed up. His decision making was bad, too.

Now he's healthy or at least a lot HEALTHIER, and to his credit he is making better decisions, and of course receivers are catching it more consistently.

But I suppose you saw all that coming, right?

Not that it really matters but NOLA says the NFL stats folks have changed the ruling on the Snead fumble and return to a pick 6.
