Did the Refs get the call right.

Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
Didn't see it in real time, only saw it in one replay and without my glasses while rooting for New Orleans. Obvious facemask, correct call,. Seriously though, I've seen lesser hands-to-facemask type calls made so the Giants just have to suck it up. The way the Saints were moving the ball, they'da been in field goal range in a couple plays anyway, #shrug.

Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
D*mn, what a bunch of whiny b*tches...
They actually want to question the facemask call on the second to last play?!? Gotta a question for Newsday and G'nats fans - How did you enjoy not having one defensive pass inteference call against your secondary all day, even though they were torched at will on Sunday?!? |

Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
A team that got out-gained by nearly 200 yards should be thankful they were even in the game. You got beat... Deal with it.
And yes, the call was very obviously correct. |
Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
it was correct because someone had to recover the fumble.
What should be questioned is why wasnt the whistle blown when Snead recovered it may be the problem instead of letting him advance the ball any further. I think the refs though got too cute a couple times on both sides though. |

They would have to try one hell of a side line pass to leave even 1 sec on the clock and then it have to be at least 10-15 yards down field. I honestly was waiting for Overtime as I didnt have a lick of confidence of the Saints winning it in regulation. What more I was surprised to see the Sean Payton burn so much time to score a TD and leave 35 secs on the clock for the Giants but in the end it makes since otherwise the Giants would of burned clock in FG range. |

Short and simple answer..... Yes
|
Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
I think it was the right call. But it kind of seemed like the refs couldn't make up their mind whether to call it or not, that's what was messed up.

Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
no brainer call, it was frequent, he was pulling the mask sideways like pissed off at himself for pispour kick
|
Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
... how often do the kickers get in on tackling drills at practice too ... probably had no idea what he was doing,.

Because at full speed, things are happening so fast but its is easier to react to soemething with atleast some training. |
Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
Not all kickers, last year Mcafee got drug tested after the hit he put on a returner!

Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
My favorite part of the article:
"Yeah. It wasn't very pretty. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie said he'd never played in a game and felt so helpless against a quarterback. "Not like that, just to have somebody just do what they want to do to you at will and we have no answers for it, don't stop it," the cornerback said. "I can't explain that. I don't know what happened." |
Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
Only the person fumbling the ball can advance it when fumbled in the last 2:00 minutes. The recovery counted but not the advance of the ball. The face mask penalty is applied from the spot of the fumble. A very long winded: YES!

Re: Did the Refs get the call right.
I want all the old rules put back in and these new rules in the bathroom stall for emergency TP.

I'm sure you know that rule was put in place because of a very specific play: the Raiders Holy Roller: SFIAH |
