Marcus Mariota's health was big reason Tennessee Titans made a change - Tennessee Titans Blog - ESPN

So Wis got fired for leaving Mariota in...
and for the lousy coaching

I predict that homecoming weekend for Zach won't be as productive as it was for Eli

Be careful there. Interim coaches are having some pretty good success on their first outings...

Re: Saints vs Mularkey

This game got more dangerous. Seriously. Look what happened in Miami.

Just sayin'

Re: Saints vs Mularkey

Statistically over the whole NFL, it is not as big a deal as people think. Interim coaches have a .394 win average. That's not gangbusters impressive.

An unknown quarterback makes a bigger difference than an unknown/fresh coach. People mention Miami as an example, because it is fresh in their minds, but those Dolphins and their interim coach were playing against....these same Titans. Doesn't necessarily mean that they won because they changed the coach four days before the game....

I wouldn't be that dismissive of Mularkey...he's not your run-of-the-mill Interim Head Coach. He's been a HC twice already at Buffalo & Jacksonville.

This is probably his last HC shot...don't count out a desperate man with an underdog 1-6 Titans team.

14-18 record Buffalo
2-14 when he was at Jacksonville....

He is 16-32 career overall, as a head coach, and you're scared of him? What exactly has he done as a coach or coordinator, that has impressed you? Has he been anything other than run-of-the-mill in any of these places? Yeah he won some with the Steelers with Cowher a long time ago but their record went progressively backwards every year he was OC. /shrugs/

Teams like this on the road beat overconfident, picked-to-win teams in their house. We'd better check ourselves.

We seem to love 1st time coaches, rookie QB's and green horns of every type.
It's crazy.
I just hope our defense shows up.
