It's all part of the "Bread and Circuses" You need more than one "talking head" to create drama. One is the "good cop" the other "bad cop" They are all playing roles! Stir the pot, Stir the pot!!

I've never believed it's as simple as people playing roles. This is who these people are. Networks hire the people they want for what they are. If they want professionals, they hire professionals. If they want shock value, they hire numbskulls like Deion and Irvin, because they know what they'll get. I don't think anyone has to tell those guys how to act.

Your description of Roles is better than mine: Professional = Good Cop, Numbskull = Bad Cop. Result is the same: Create controversy.

No, it's not about the description of roles. I understood your description and your point. My point is that I don't believe it's role playing, at all. Maybe to the network it's about roles and putting guys in there with contrasting personalities to create buzz. In fact, that was what I eluded to.

But for the guys involved, themselves, it's not a role. It's who they are. I don't give a guy like Deion Sanders a pass because he's just playing a role. He really is every bit the fool he appears to be.

How can anyone be upset by drivel spewed by a man who bottles his own farts.

He was just being real. I think its quite obvious to anyone who knows anything about football that we probably wont make the playoffs. Doesnt mean it couldnt happen but we all know deep down its unlikely. Doesnt mean we cant enjoy watching the young guys develop and knocking Atlanta and Carolina around a little.

When this team looked completely hapless and none of us knew the extent of Brees' injury, and whether he'd ever get his arm strength back this season, it seemed impossible.

But as we now stand at 4-4 with a healthier Brees, have you looked at our schedule? It's not by any means a slam dunk, but unlikely? Not really. I'd say 50-50, just looking at our schedule. Deion provides no insight. That's not being real in my book. That's just being dismissive because it's to say that a team who started 1-4 can't make it. He probably has no idea what the standings are and who we play.
