How much will it help? I know it has to be done and should have been done sooner but here is my issue. This makes 4 DC in the Sean Payton era. What is the common denominator on defense this entire time? If other heads don't roll, how are we ever going to turn the corner on defense?

Consider that Brees has made a career of making average receivers look great. Any part of the Saints game that doesn't involve Brees is average, at best. Ok, i'll throw in Morstead as well. Since Brees doesn't play D, it sucks beyond belief.

Maybe, just maybe, he also made an average coach look great.

If a person believes the defensive follies are solely related to an inept defensive coordinator, then I have some ocean front property in North Dakota to sell you. I believe it is a much deeper issue.

If we just hire another washed up DC our results will be the same. I never ever liked this hire......well, maybe a little bit his first year here. But that was a brief time frame.

I disagree if we have a potential DC we have on staff.

Might as well give them the helm and start putting in their playbook and philosophy. Get a jump on next year instead of waiting...

Kind of like you have an artery bleeding... do you let the patient bleed out or try and slow or stop the bleeding?

What? All of a sudden the DL will get 3 sacks a piece? Browner will forget how to grab receivers? The players don't care, if they did they would be auditioning for the other teams in the league that watch the tape. You may get a one game spark. It will be interesting.
