This was a no brainer. Give DA a chance to see what he can do with the reins. He can implement his schemes in the next two weeks and tweak them over the next six games. Allen is familiar with the personnel he has to work with and has the opportunity to prove he should have the job. Who knows? He might take some of the pressure off of Vitt if he's successful.

Allen is a secondary coach and if I recall correctly Payton likes to hire those guys as defensive coordinators.

The real question is do we really want to move to a 3-4? Because I think Allen is a 4-3 coach primarily. Vitt is a 4-3 coach too. If they make it through the offseason cuts I guess we'll be running a 4-3.

Here's the head scratcher for me.......what defense will we run and what defense will we draft for next year? I would love to see a break down of the players talent and what system they are projected to play in.
